Can you please help me with Gap sizings?

I am roughly a size 18 with smaller waist and 18 arse. I know that in this condition I probably shouldn't be wearing jeans at all,but in reality I am living in New Look Hulas.

The last thing I wan to do is go fishing round Gap while the bendy thin assistants snigger and bring jeans to fit the fat granny, so I need to know where to start so I can help myself off the shelf.

I don't know how to buy jeans unless they come in women's sizes- is it just a case of measuring me and finding the same measurements on the shelves?

Do Gap even go up to my size? Do they have a special section for "4 kids in 5 years and too many pies"?

I know Gap are a deeply unethical company by the way, but am fed up of looking worse by dressing in cheap stuff all the time.

Oh I am 5'5 and pear shaped.

I'm fairly sure they go up to your size. Most of their jeans now come in normal womans sizes IIRC. May still be in US sizing i.e 2 sizes smaller than ours - so you would be looking for a 14 - although the last pair I bought were in UK sizes. The sales assistants are usually OK tbh.

Gap's in North American sizes so basically I'd start with subtracting 4 i.e. a 14. They tend to be generous with their sizing too which is always nice for the ego Rather than buying a 10-12, I get to buy a 6 from there.

I bought some Gap jeans last week and yes they do come in a US 14 (UK 18)

So sorry to hear that you think the fashion assistants are sniggering - hope it's not true and that you feel better about yourself soon,

Think you should be fine with the sizes going up to whatever you need - have you tried looking at the website for info on sizing?

I think you could order online too, from different stores, if you don't like the shop experience and try on in the comfort of your home without pressure.

Good luck with it!
