Have I done the right thing buying this dress (I'm having a wobble...!!)

Well, I've been out shopping with my sister, and she wanted this dress, she tried it on and it didn't look too good on her. So I tried it on, and she told me to get it! To be honest, I quite like it, but dh has said that he doesn't really like it. Should I tell him to get stuffed? It IS shorter than I'm used to, but I've recently lost 4 stone, so that's no great surprise! I'm a size 10/ 12, and I run a lot, so my legs are ok now (god, I hate this!!). I thought I could wear it with colourful tights!

Do I keep it or take it back?

I really like it, though I do like the other belt rather than the one on it.

You like it, your sister likes it...

Noo, don't take it back!

brandonsflower · 22/11/2009 20:31

at my overuse of "like"

LovelyWalters · 22/11/2009 20:33

i think it's really nice, well done for losing all the weight! Show your legs off - although I'd prob wear plain black tights rather than coloured ones (I'm kinda boring though!)

now, do tell how you lost the weight....

PoppyIsApain · 22/11/2009 20:34

I think its nice, it is quite long to me

JANEITEisntErudite · 22/11/2009 20:35

Congratulations on the weight loss.

I don't like it, sorry. I think it looks cheap and very 'teenage' - then again, I am far from a teenager, so what do I know?

FlamingoBingo · 22/11/2009 20:40

I don't like animal prints, so I don't like it - but I like the shape and don't think it's too short.

MarthaFarquhar · 22/11/2009 20:45

not sure either.

I love a nice bit of animal print, but think animal print + short and clingy = Liz McDonald

MarthaFarquhar · 22/11/2009 20:45

speaking of which - rofflarama

bishboschone · 22/11/2009 21:28

I love this dress and bought it but my husband said the same thing. He too said animal print= her from corrie. If you are wobbling about it they do the same dress in plain black so maybe go for that.

If you are not sure about a dress with animal print then maybe swap it for the black one, and then wear it with coloured tights. With the plain black you can also wear necklaces/beads too whereas with the animal print would be too much.

Fleecy · 22/11/2009 21:57

I like it in the animal print to be honest. Keep it - it's cute!

Fleecy · 22/11/2009 21:58

PS - My DS shares a name with yours. You clearly have excellent taste all round!

jollydiane · 22/11/2009 22:01

Well done for the weight loss.

Sort or depends on your colouring. Nothing wrong with the lenght but the colour would wash me out.

rookiemater · 22/11/2009 22:05

Apparently most men don't like animal prints. Ignore him I think it looks stylish particularly if you have good pins, but keep it toned down with the accessories.

Clure · 22/11/2009 22:22

Keep it! Tone down what you wear with it though (i.e not red stilletos a la liz macdonald) I'd wear it with plain black opaques little black cardi, shoe boots...nice

mum2seb · 23/11/2009 13:47

Ha ha!! I haven't GOT red stillettos, and wouldn't get anywhere if I did!! I've never mastered anything above 1 1/2 inches high!! Flats for me, I'm afraid!
Lovelywalters - very boring, I'm afraid, Slimming World + lots of exercise (running, swimming, Pilates). The kids go to bed, and I pound the streets! I haven't watched TV in god knows how long now!!
Thanks for the link bishboschone, I think I might just go and check out the plain grey or black dress, then make my decision!

I like it BUT you can only get away with it if:

  1. you are under 35 and
  2. you are not busty.
