Is the dress & footless tights/leggings look out of fashion now?

I am thinking of getting a short sparkly dress for my works Christmas do and wearing it with footless tights (or whatever they are) - is that still trendy (I have lost sight of fashion over the last few years ).

Not going to have time/inclination for fake tan so at least this will cover my pale legs.

Also what sort of shoes??

I think its still a very current look. The winkleman still wears it every day on IT2.

Still fine but there are some lovely tights around too - coloured opaques or patterned that could look good with dress.

Black opaques and statement shoes would look better.

I'd wear with strappy sandals for a party or stilettos a la the winkleman.

Ceebee74 · 22/11/2009 21:14

Janeite - statement shoes?? Examples please?

Do like the thought of opaques but have no idea what shoes to wear (and would it not look a bit tarty with a short dress - for some reason, I feel leggings would be more respectable for someone my age )

God - no idea, re statement shoes. I hate shoes! But I hear that there is a Jimmy Choo collection at H&M - maybe worth a try?

BonjourIvresse · 22/11/2009 21:22

Jones bootmakers have nice ones. I think leggings would be cooler myself. Opaques and different colour shoes is a hard look unless you have very skinny legs.

Hey there
There is a whole dance wear trend at the moment so I'd imagine your footless tights would be very a la mode!

Good luck

no it is ankle boots not shoes. i love footless tights because ordinary tights always go into holes on teh feet. falke cotton touch are lovely from john lewis but not online.
