What's wrong with Boden ?

Hi, I've noticed a few times on mumsnet that people seem to have to whisper when mentioning Boden. I just wondered why? I've had a look on their website and I think a lot of it is nice. It's a bit expensive but apparently very good quality. I'm going to order a top and skirt for my daughter. She's an age 6 so not sure wether to go for 5-6 or 7-8. Anyway, I just thought I'd find out first why people are against it. (I don't want people to point and laugh as she walks down the street)

I thought most people on MN loved it?

Personally, I think it's frumpy, hideously patterned and horridly over-priced stuff that instantly ages the wearer, but hey ho...

The kid's stuff is sweet, but I would only ever purchase it secondhand / on Ebay.

The men's stuff is a joke...

It really isn't hard is it?

If you like it but it and wear it, if you don't, don't.

Why do you give two figs what others think?

I really like the kids stuff but it's outrageously overpriced. I don't really like the adult clothes. There's one dress I like in the current catalogue but I think the £89 is too much so I'm keeping an eye out to see if it goes in the sale.

There's nothing wrong with Boden. I buy all my children's clothes from Boden. People always comment on how well dressed they are and I think they always stand out (in a nice way) when among other children. I'm not particularly middle class or particularly well off but only the best is good enough for my children. I wouldn't dream of dressing my children in clothes from Primark or from some super market as they're poor quality, bland and wash terribly.

I like the dresses, skirts, cots and knitwear for myself and some of their tops. I'm short but I can get away with some styles.

I think it's really, really unsexy clothing. All very frumpy and boxy looking
