karen&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Grey Here's the dress

Thanks to everyone who said go-for-it I love it, looks even better in the flesh (and I fit the size 10 which is even better )

So, now for shoes.

I was thinking something bright and festive, maybe red court shoes?

And then I saw these will they do? I really like the look of them (although they are very high and will make me more than 6')

Any suggestions? Is red too much?

Thanks

I am jealouser than a jealous thing on a jealous day. I fell in lust with that dress about a month ago and yet still can't bloody afford it!

I adore these from kurt Geiger and also these

I am not sure I can see red with the dress tbh, and am not a strappy fan as a rule, but if you're set on the colour, these Aldo shoes would go better than the boots I think. There are tons of great silver/pewter/grey heels on Aldo site actually- here's a good pair IMO.

PS- I wear heels all the time and am 5ft 9" in bare tootsies- teeter and be proud I say!

Silentbob, I've been saving for ages for something to wear at Christmas. If you can stretch to it I definitely recommend it (not looking forward to having to get it dry cleaned though). It looks amazing on. Makes my stomach look flat (which it is not!).

Love the second Geiger ones, but not sure this outfit needs more studs.

I prefer closed toes too.

Grey/silver would probably be more sensible, just worried it might be a bit too much grey in one outfit.

And thanks

What about blue?

OP posts:
Heathcliffscathy · 20/11/2009 17:30

you know i'd be going for a chic punk look...boots possibly with opaque tights or shoeboots in grey or black..

love the dress.

i always click on these threads and have to peep thro my fingers in case it's another 'prom' type dress that seems to be so highly favoured on mn!

SilentBob · 20/11/2009 17:31

D'you know, I am going to get it I think. I properly lovelovelove the dress and would definitely get my money's worth as I would dress it up or down [taking myself into it emoticon]

Anyhoo, badk to shoes- I know what you mean about more grey. What about purple?

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 20/11/2009 17:34

Purple is possible.

Sophable, I like the idea of the chic-punk look.

SilentBob, do it! It does look fantastic with my FLy Boots for dressing down.

Heathcliffscathy · 20/11/2009 17:37

yes, purple is a goer, as is electric blue.

SilentBob · 20/11/2009 17:37

Oooh, I know they are grey (and silver) but these are gooooood!

ShowOfHands · 20/11/2009 17:38

Oh that's a lovely dress. But at a month's food shopping money, I can only dream.

No idea about shoes. I wear boots with everything and would with that.

Oh have a lovely well-dressed Christmas.

Heathcliffscathy · 20/11/2009 17:39

you see, i don't agree...i wouldn't be going for court shaped shoes with this...you want to rockchic it up a bit more thanthat...the embellishing lends itself to it (get me, ms frickin fashion, not!)

Heathcliffscathy · 20/11/2009 17:41

not these exactly but you catch my drift

SilentBob · 20/11/2009 17:42

Electric blue lovelies I think these are my favourites so far!

Heathcliffscathy · 20/11/2009 17:42

again doesn't quite hit the mark, but leaning in this direction

Heathcliffscathy · 20/11/2009 17:43

yeah yeah yeah...bring it on silentbob!

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 20/11/2009 17:43

You have convinced me, Sophable. The first link is to some wine-red shoe-boots - what about them in black?

Silentbob, nice, but I think I'm being moved towards ankle-boots

SOH, I know it's pricey - haven't spent this much on a dress since I got married I normally go with boots too, but want a bit of a change.

OP posts:
Heathcliffscathy · 20/11/2009 17:44

like these even better

has anyone noticed how fab dune has got all of a sudden...used to be crap like faith, now i find myself lusting!

SilentBob · 20/11/2009 17:46

Yep, Sophable, I compeltely agree- looking at those silver/grey ones I posted I am going to make a complete about-turn! They are not right for that dress!

these purple beauties are though!

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 20/11/2009 17:53

These?

OP posts:
YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 20/11/2009 18:05

or these?

OP posts:
YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 20/11/2009 18:08

or maybe these?

or am I going too far down the punk road and losing the chic?

OP posts:
Clure · 20/11/2009 18:17

think a "rock chic" feel shoe/ shoe-boot would really compliment the style of the dress
shoe 1
shoe 2
shoe 3 if you can stand more studs
shoe 4
shoe 5 if you are slim of calf
shoe 6 I want

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 20/11/2009 18:24

I love the DP ones, but I'm a bit worried that zip looks rather uncomfortable... Thanks Clure.

I've definitely been persuaded to go down the rock/punk road.

This has really cheered me up Looking at shoes is so much better than thinking about RL

OP posts:
YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 20/11/2009 18:28

Ok, I think I might have found them...

What about these?

OP posts:
Clure · 20/11/2009 18:33
