Talk to me about shoe boots...

... or just talk me out of them! Have developed hankering for a pair although don't know whether I should have.

Am 33, size 10-12, legs OK but nothing spectacular. Shoe boots to be worn, in theory, mostly with skinny jeans and dresses but possibly dresses on own.

Assuming it is not a complete no-no:

I can't do really high heels, so either mid-ish or a platform would be good. I like grey but black would be all right. Details or studs OK in moderation.

And pref not too expensive as will prolly go off them after Christmas...

I have two pairs-colbalt blue suede from Reiss and Purple and black suede from Mui Mui. I got them in a mad shopping splurge in September last year. I think they're a trend which will hang around a while. I really like them and wear mine with jeans or dresses. They are high though.

There are loads of reasonably priced ones around, and I have seen some with medium/wedge heels in places like Office,Kurt Geiger, Dorothy Perkins, Next, Primark, New Look etc. Most do tend to be high though.

I would get another pair in black with studs for more everyday wear. I say you should go for it!

Oooh, that the kind of message I was hoping for.

I am not super-dressy, so would like something vaguely edgy but OK for daywear.

Any suggestions? Saw a pair in New Look I quite liked, with buckles, but high spindly heels which am not sure about. Can't find the ideal combo of chunky and detailed for nearly no money...

I have just brought these www.newlook.co.uk/1762372/176237201/ProductDetails.aspx and I love them - I'm 28 so nearly as old as you.

They look great teamed with leggins, dresses and especially good with a leather jacket I think

Like those.

These are the ones I was looking at

I saw those ones too but they didn't have them in my size! I think your fine to wear something similar at 33!

Bought some black fairly plain ones from
M&S that would recommend as the heel is good for everyday..they not leather but only £25 so a good intro!
Have since bought grey pair that were not so cheap.............
