I've lived in trainers, except for when I'm at work, all my adult life. I've got dodgy feet and need to wear specially made insoles all the time. I feel I never look smart or stylish. I never know what to wear with skirts or dresses or smart trousers, so rarely wear them. I can't afford lots of different pairs of shoes/ boots. What will solve my footwear crisis?

I've never recommended M&S bfore, but if you go in and try on some of their footglove stuff, you should be able to find something smarter (anklle boots etc) that will fit the insoles?

I have a problem in that I live in ankle boots and shoe boots and can't stop... But not peeptoe [shudder]

Good idea, I've had some of their 'work shoes' before. What do ankle boots go with? Anything?

You can put orthopedic insoles in biker boots

there is an arch support for "comfort" that they sell in Sainsburys which makes it possible for me to wear most shoes. It is probably not advisable for every day.

IMO ankle boots go with everything. I may be deluding myself though! Knee length boots always good with skirts in winter too.
