Gorgeous wedding outfit for miserable 60-something mother of groom

My friend phoned me in tears about the fact that her one and only beloved ds is getting married in New York and living there. She is v worried about the wedding too and seeing her ex-husband there with tediously predictable younger new partner. I suggested dressing up glam to help boost her confidence - what catalogues could I send her to cheer her up? I was thinking possibly Toast - she is short, rounded and 60-something. Usually wears kaftan jobbies that aren't v flattering.

East? Phase 8?
What about an appointment with a personal shopper? Or a style consultant?

Hobbs or LK Bennett but would echo the personal shopper suggestion.

John Lewis or Selfridges depending on budget.
