to sell or not to sell??

some of you may know that I'm having a massive wardrobe clearout and flogging lots of stuff on ebay

I've got a gorgeous fitted black leather biker jacket - bought it last year - and can't quite make up my mind to sell it. Would appreciate your thoughts.

In favour of selling, my thoughts are:
not likely to wear it this season due to new baby, limited social life and unlikely to fit into it well with bfing boobs. By the time I can wear it, and wear it well, again biker jackets will probably be passe again. May as well cash in on the trend since some ebayer is bound to want one?

Against: it will, inevitably, be fashionable again. however by then I may be too old or too chunky (or both) to wear it.

I've also got 2 very fitted knee-length leather coats, one with a huge faux fur collar, one without - but am fairly certain that I should hang on to these since they're pretty timeless.

Any advice?

You know, I am doing the opposite thing. I am finally back into pre pg clothes and I am so glad I hung onto everything. I had it all stashed away in black bin bags and so often over the last 17 months I've been tempted to just chuck it all. I'd say hang onto it and have the pleasure of selling your far too big clothes later on instead

I'd hang on to it tbh - like you say, it'll definitely come back in again and then you might regret it.

Can i be cheeky though and ask for your eBay name so I can have a look at your stuff?

I have a black fitted biker jacket that I bought with my first wage packet... 11 years ago.. I wore it last night.

IMO (although I'm not the exoert biker jackets are timeless.. keep it. Unless you need the £££ for something else.

Oh and fb the link to the stuff you are selling on ebay - incase there is anything that catches my eye

I wore my fitted "shrunken" biker jacket this afternoon for the Christmas light switch-on over a polo-neck dress and skinnies. I bumped into 3 friends who all complimented me on my jacket and one of them remarked how sexy I looked.

Not quite sure if that's an argument for keep or e-bay BTW, however I think a well cut jacket is a timeless thing...

biker jackets keep coming back. I'd hang on to it until at least when you know what size you will be post breastfeeding.

LetThemEatCake · 15/11/2009 21:45

okay, I'll keep it for a bit. Thanks all.

Fleecy - not cheeky at all, but I'm only listing a couple of things a week, it does my head in otherwise. There are a few bits on as of tonight. I'm greencathedral

Def keep it,LTEC.
Could you wear it open over dress/tunic/tights or leggings combo, with scarf to bridge the gap?

LetThemEatCake · 16/11/2009 10:37

good idea PD. I'll try it a few different ways tonight. When in doubt, don't, right? - so I'll hang on to it. Plenty of other things to sell!!

I would have bought kimono top.

Love black dress although guessing it wont stretch to my size 12 boobs stomach and arse

There should be a thread in S&B for you to sell your "pieces"

Much better than ebay

Clure · 16/11/2009 11:06

keep the biker jacket - deffo a drifter in and out of fashion!

Fleecy · 16/11/2009 21:18
