Uniglo - What do you buy?

What's a good buy from Uniglo - sister wants a cardi so thought I could add to the order. Not able to go into a store to look and try on so thought I'd ask the colletive wisdom of Mumsnet. Any recommendations - esp from the latest collection????

i have one cardigan from the current collection of 'boyfriend cardigans' (long v-shape front) but wish I'd bought more -- i love it!

this one

also have several pairs of their skinny cords and a couple of check-shirt style tunic dresses

The denim is great. Good length and seems a nice fit for the wide of arse/hip/thigh. Knits are also lovely quality though seem a bit short in the body for me

DH loves their menswear - all of it. Hat/scaves v good. In fact it's all great - good solid basics that last and last.

I am devastated that since we moved up North our nearest store is now 150miles away .

I have bought several Heat Tech scoop neck T shirts for layering, which are great- wash really well. And some scoop neck cotton Ts at £5.99 each- just as good as Boden's at £17.

I have looked at most of their jumpers etc in store.

One word of advice- they are long. I didn't buy and neither did my friend as we both thought they looked a bit " middle-aged". Might be fine if you have a long body or are tall, which we aren't!
Cashmere is good quality but the cut is a bit on the baggy side- if this helps!

yes the denim is fab quality
the dark denim especially nice

have wondered about the heatech stuff-anyone have it? is it really warm?

MarthaFarquhar · 14/11/2009 13:27

You found the tops long, peony? I have always found the opposite, but haven't shopped there this season yet

purplepeony · 14/11/2009 13:28

The Heattech is warm, but it's also thin if that makes sense!

At the moment, I am wearing a scoop neck Heat Tech T under a tank top, and have been wearing the sleeveless top under cardis.

I'd say it is as warm as most thermal stuff. As it's thin you can layer it- it could even go under a T shirt with a cardi/jumper over that too.

Yes, my friend who is roughly my size- 5' 4" and size 10- tried on the V neck cashmere and it was hip level- she wanted a more cropped style.

brimfull · 14/11/2009 13:30

thanks purplepeony- may order a few
the socks might be good for dd who permanently has frozen feet

alarkaspree · 14/11/2009 13:30

I have heat tech scoop neck tops and vests in various colours, they are great.

Also skinny boot cut jeans, marvellous concept and I find flattering.

Coloured opaque tights.

Knickers very nice too.

ggirl- sizing??

I am an 8-10 ( 32c bust) and get an XS size which is a snug fit.

brimfull · 14/11/2009 13:39
