lovely cut and colour but all depends on what the fabric is like.

whoojarse · 13/11/2009 19:06

it is very nice, like the colour

InThisSequinBraYesYouOlaJordan · 13/11/2009 19:58

What shoes would you wear with it?

(considers recommending her new pink corsage shoes again, but waits for response)

I think it is really lovely - Phase 8 usually are a good fit, and I really like the colour

daisyj · 13/11/2009 20:02

Nice - think it would make skinny girls look curvy and also flatter curvy girls, as long as the purple would suit you. You'd need to be careful with make up with that colour though, I think, depending on your own colouring. And nothing wrong with poly if it's not too thin - and as it's Phase Eight I'm sure it would be fine (as long as you're not wearing a snaggy bracelet).

ConnieComplaint · 13/11/2009 20:07

Oh wow! Pink shoes, pink bag & pick 'cover thing' for your arms!!

I wore a charcoal dress to a wedding in August with pink accessories & it looked fab!! (not that I'm full of myself or anything!)

BelindaCarlisle · 13/11/2009 20:08

i once had a dress from ther e- I seem to go in every couple of years, i needed a formal one and t eh 12 fitted but am a 14/12 mix.

InThisSequinBraYesYouOlaJordan · 13/11/2009 20:16

Hears "pink" "suede" and "platform" and has to link

you could have these

BelindaCarlisle · 13/11/2009 20:26

ooh lalla

Wheelybug · 13/11/2009 20:26

ooh I like that - I too have a winter wedding to find a dress for. Have ordered this yawn yawn boden link but not sure it will suit me and wonder if its a bit boring. Hmmmmm.... Will maybe have to try on the phase 8 one too.

But interested to hear what shoes etc you'll wear as I am not sure with purple. Black seems a bit too dull.

BelindaCarlisle · 14/11/2009 14:08

well ti was no good in rl.
the seam around the waist was no good

Wheelybug · 14/11/2009 14:14

in what way ?

The boden one arrived today and it is fine. But that's about it - relatively flattering which is saying something given post baby bulge but its a bit dull.

Am probably off to JL shortly so might take a look.

BelindaCarlisle · 14/11/2009 14:18

well i ma not lweft with two options WB, a phase eight straight wrap dress ( black with big white dots)
OR a LBD from coast that is ok but a bit tired...

Wheelybug · 14/11/2009 18:48

hmm I just tried it on in JL and agree its not that great (on me at any rate). It was ok but the drapey bit at the front I thought might hide a multitude of sins but as DH kindly put it, it drew attention to them.

Saw a couple of things in hobbs that looked ok but couldn't be bothered to try them on. Will have to put some effort in, don't think I have any options except the aforementioned Boden bore. Sigh. Tis a 'work' wedding of DH's so I didn't want to look like a frumpy old wifey. Must apply some effort to shopping.
