I think that tunic style tops are best with narrow trousers or leggings tbh. (but I am not an expert!)

What happened re your hair?

Lulumama · 13/11/2009 14:02

thanks ! i thought so

erm, have had many threads about home hair colour going wrong/ scorching it etc...

am a bit rubbish at hair

are you tall or smaller?

i think tunic tops suit taller people better to be honest

andlipsticktoo · 13/11/2009 14:06

Some tunics look lovely with wide legs - particularly if you are tall. Sadly I am short so it's skinny jeans or leggings with tunics for me!

MrsTittleMouse · 13/11/2009 14:07

Generally speaking you need to wide on the top or the bottom, but not both. So wide leg trousers and fitted top or tunic with slimmer leg. Sorry, it doesn't sound too good.

But I loved your dress on the Mumsnet Youtube video.

Lulumama · 13/11/2009 16:22

am short andfat

mumsnet youtube video? i know not of what you speak.... but i'm sure i looked great

so would be ok with top that was finished at the top of my legs? or something more fitted?

got a slinky black top and a cape style cardi.. would that be better?

slinky black top and fitted cardi - yes, but cape stlye cardi - not with wide leg if you are short like me!
Cape style cardi with skinny jeans tucked into boots looks good on a shortie I find.
Have you got some skinnies? Or (whisper) jeggings?
Tunics look great with high waist jeggings - honest! I know some people dislike them, but try them, try them and you may like them.
I got some lovely ones very cheaply from Primark.

Whoops, it was marslady. Have gotten my Mumsnet birth gurus mixed up.

Sorry.

I am also short and not very narrow, and I find that I need something fairly fitted or I look like a sack. The problem with that outfit for me would be that I have what are laughably called childbearing hips (ha!). A tunic that went to the hips and then wide trousers that came down from the hips would mean that I would look like I was the size of my hips along the whole length of my body. This would not be a good look.
