'Long socks' for a two year old boy

My DS has been saying for days that he really wants some long socks - I'm sympathetic, iven that it's beginning to get freezing here and all his socks are supermarket multi-pack cotton ankle socks - but I can't seem to find anything that looks like a long sock for his age group, apart from frilly white lacy ones which I don't think will cut the mustard!

Anyone seen any longer socks for little kids? I imagine knee socks might be asking a bit much, given that he doesn't really have any visible knees yet - but anything longish and preferably thickish would be great. Anyone seen anything like that about?

Would he wear tights?

gap socks are long if you unfold them, also in boots if they are big with baby/toddler clothes the socks they have are also long. not sure what the brand is tho

i get nana to send me socks from Aus as bonds to an over the knee/knee length sock for babies and toddlers. last seasons was quite a thick sock and went well inside his wellies.

He might, I don't know! But it might get a bit bulky under trousers etc, no?

I got some in boyish colours in verbaudet.

Babylegs are great - DS wears them a lot in the winter as you can tuck trousers into them too and stop them trailing in puddles
