That is a fake site I'm afraid.

notanumber · 09/11/2009 10:57

I'm sorry BigMomma3, but dexter is right.

Call your bank now and tell them what's happened before the website can do anything with your details.

BigMomma3 · 09/11/2009 10:59

What makes you say that?? I was directed to that site by someone who's bought them! The 2nd G is bigger which I understood to be a sign of genuinity. Also I looked at this site a few weeks ago and the prices were full price, i.e. 160 quid per pair.

genuine or fake

get your friend to double check her's here.

lucykate · 09/11/2009 11:12

also, from their official website, it says,

"Be wary of websites that contain UGG® anywhere in the domain name. If you are viewing UGG® Australia products online anywhere other than uggaustralia.com and the domain name includes "UGG." or any variation of this word, or includes one of our style names in the domain address, e.g. "Cardy," this product is most certainly counterfeit"

dexter73 · 09/11/2009 11:36

Have a look here too. The point of fakes is that they look the same so if the 2nd G is bigger on a genuine label it will be the same on a fake label!

fannybanjo · 09/11/2009 11:43

BigMomma, they area fake site, they will send you an email from China. I was duped as well and I must have bought them in a moment of madness because usually I am SPOT on with stuff like this. When my arrived, I wasn't too sure but after wearing them for a week and checking out different websites on how to spot a fake Ugg, I realised mine where. I emailed them to let them know I knew they were counterfeit and even though they keep saying they will refund me, they haven't. A total waste of £70. My own fault though, no-one sells real UGG boots that cheap.

lucykate · 09/11/2009 11:54

my rule of thumb for everything - if it sounds too good to be true, then it usually is.

madmissy · 09/11/2009 11:56

thats a fake site im 99.9% sure we had same convo on another forum i ise and my friend did the live chat and they fed her with crap

BigMomma3 · 09/11/2009 14:36

Ah, well lets hope they are decent quality then. DD is only 12 so I won't tell her and if anyone asks me, I will feign ignorance!! I could never afford the cochure ones anyway and at least they should keep our feet warm. Apologies to all .

BigMomma, which ones did you buy? Mine were the Sundance II ones. When I compared them to my SIL's real ones, they were obvious fakes but when they were on my feet, it wasn't so obvious. It was the fur which was the most noticeable difference. Genuine sheepskin is one layer and mine was suede with a fake fur fabric sewed inside.

fannybanjo · 09/11/2009 15:33

Why don't you email them to cancel your order and let them know that you have been told they are fake.

lucykate · 10/11/2009 12:10

bigmomma, don't apologise!, it's not your fault the internet is awash with these sites. if they were cheap, a decent copy, and you are happy with them, then you've got yourself some warm, comfy boots!

Calstal79 · 28/11/2011 21:48

Hi I too fell for this website, however although fake, you'd never ever tell! I know it's not ethical to be buying fake goods, but for that price who really cares, I've compared them with real ones in detail and they're identical!!
I did have a small problem with the pair I originally bought in that the stitching started coming undone at the back, their customer service was shocking and after 2 weeks worth of emails and them not being prepared to refund or exchange, they said they'd send me out another pair as long as I paid the postage of £10! I repaired the first pair with thick cotton easily and they sent me another pair (a different colour) so realistically 2 for the price of one and over 2 years down the line they're still going strong!! It not right, but real uggs are a massive rip off too
