who can still fit into kids clothes/shoes.

I thought it might be nice to share our bargain buys.

I think it was VerityBrulee who got the Stella McCartney for GAP Kids trench coat, which reminded me that I used to regularly buy childrens clothes but seem to have stopped looking recently.

Since them I've bought:

this mini boden ruffle cardigan in gold, age 13-14. What a bargain- it's really lovely on, perfect fit and I'm size 8-10 with large bfing boobs.

Have ordered Jones Bootmaker boots, waiting for them to be delivered so will report back.

Another pair of boots from Jones.

All a fraction of the price of adult clothes, so please come and share your best buys .

Great idea for a thread..

I bought these Boden boots and I love them - out of stock in the 'bigger' sizes now though.

Like the first pair of Jones boots you linked to but out of stock in my size (36)

Zembo · 08/11/2009 20:39

I'm 5ft1 and size 8 by the way!

onepieceoflollipop · 08/11/2009 20:41

Wow, fab thread. I am an 8/10 and 5'2" so probably fit into this category.

LOL weepootle, I was out shopping today in my gapkids jacket and mini boden cardigan (gold same as yours - dd has it in 5-6, I have to make sure we don't wear them at the same time!)

weepootle · 08/11/2009 20:52

Love the boots zembo, I ordered last year's version of them but they only came half-way up my calves (I'm only 5ft btw), those ones you have look higher.

I've got those boots too zembo - got them last week.

weepootle · 08/11/2009 20:57

Really verity? lol!!

I have the same problem with dd1 (5)- have to make sure we don't wear our boden duffles together (mine's green, age 11-12), I couldn't resist it at a clearance sale- picked it up for £15!

Hi, am 5ft4 size six and yes absolutely do buy children's sizes based on cost.

I have bought from Boden and Noa Noa, Gap and also Dimensione Danse.

Also Petit Bateau do a range up to 12/14 years of age which is perfect for me.

Shoe size is 38 though!

Great thread.

weepootle · 09/11/2009 14:09

Welcome martha, you're pretty tall by our standards but we'll let you in .

Just checked out NoaNoa - lovely stuff.

I'm size 37 shoe, size 38 is still available in kids shoes.

Just remembered my fave place last year - Zara. I got a lovely winter coat and a few knitted dresses/tunics, haven't checked them out yet this winter.

Thank you! I always feel I don't look even 5ft 4 though and used to live in heels until it just became ridiculous with small baby.

Yes I do recall buying a pair of girl's shoes in zara now that you mention it -don't consciously check them out though - unlike clothes where I usually have a look.

Am in Dublin so not the same selection as you guys but come on lots in the last 5 or 6 years.

I do remember Victoria Beckham getting some flack though because she shopped at Gap Kids or had 24 inch waist or some such thing - but that's a whole other issue I think.!
