70's party, got a dress....but what shoes?

I have bought a nice long maxi dress with angel sleeves (photo on my profile) and now I want some 70's shoes to go with it.

I'm not sure what would have been worn in the 70s as evening wear. All the clichés are of platform boots which I don't think will go.

Also, what makeup?

Thanks

Superdooper dress. I'd go for gold strappy sandals. Look for some on ebay or in vintage shops. I recently sold some silver sandals on ebay that were perfect with my mum's navy blue genuine 70's dress.

Thanks for the biccie!

Agree with sandals; and lovely dress!

Make-up needs to be a bit Abigail's party/Liver birds, so heavy liquid eyeliner (over and under the eye) over a sweep of pale eyeshadow (white or pale green would be good), almost up to the brow, then shade the socket line with a darker tone. False eyelashes are vital.

A small amount of blusher if you need it, and pale glossy lips (try mixing a dab of foundation with lip balm/gloss).

Have fun

Thanks, wedgie sandals then.. Maybe gold, for some extra glamour.

I like the sound of false lashes, but I've never tried them before.
I think 70's is definitely fun. I'm loving the angel sleeves
