Everywhere only seems to stock sets and my ds only wears bottoms, also at this time of year they all seem to be long.

Perhaps best to buy a load in the sales at the end of summer (might have just missed them this year) when they get their winter ones in. Keep the tops so you can pass on/sell the pjs when he grows out of them.

Or buy boxer shorts in a size too big

Or try ebay

Or use tracksuit bottoms

Try M&S I think I got some from there last year.

H&M usually have some in, I bought DS2 some shorts/vest sets a couple of week ago, reduced to £3 from £10. They also do boxer type shorts with vests as well.

I'd def try ebay. Spotted some nice White Company checked ones on there although only small (age 2-3 and 3-4, I think).

Thanks for your help, may have to try boxer shorts until the spring, although ds would rather wear yucky old ones than compromise :-)
