The couple got married last month abroad, they are having an evening do in a posh hotel on Saturday night. Bride is wearing her wedding dress.

What should I wear?

I have put 5 photos on my profile page.

Tell me tell me.

That's fine sixtyfootdoll, they are both about 10 years old! Perhaps it's time I cleared out my wardrobe.

I just hate ankle straps when wearing a skirt or dress. They don't do your legs justice and look a bit officey. something like this would be much better imo

bonfirewithaheartofgold · 06/11/2009 20:09

no slingbacks
don't panic her about teh shoes they're cute.
i'd wear tights though. in fact i could well be tempted to go for sparkly ones.

chattermouse · 06/11/2009 20:19

No.1 best fits the bill. But must also say that i LOVE your wedding dress. Just beautiful! Where was it from? I will be looking for a dress myself next summer....

JANEITEluddite · 06/11/2009 20:36

Deffo not bare legs with those shoes.

giddykipper · 06/11/2009 20:59

Wedding dress is from Coast, it's about 75% off in the sale at the moment. It's actually a skirt and bodice.

Could look for sparkly tights. Running a bit low on time though, I'm quite a distance from a decent shopping centre.

I agree on number 1, where is it from? Can't believe nobody has asked already!!

You look much better in it than in 2 or 3. Your wedding dress is lovely but too summery I would say (not too dressy, you could definitely get away with it at an evening do for a summer wedding)

I like the shoes but the photos on your page definitely don't do them justice.

giddykipper · 06/11/2009 21:06

The dress is from the same shop as the shoes (linked), a local shop for local people. I tried to find a pic of the dress on their website but I can't see it.

Found it

A brand called Traffic People, which I mave never heard of, but that doesn't mean much.

I like no 1 and your wedding dress, but no 1's probably better for an evening do, and for a winter do too. Looks lovely!

EightiesChick · 06/11/2009 21:20

Oh, and I love your name btw!

Heated · 06/11/2009 21:24

Not bare legs with the shoes.

giddykipper · 06/11/2009 21:40

So what tights then?

Something sparkly silvery?
Fishnet?

If you are considering different shoes, Purple>Women>Shoes" REL="nofollow" >this type of shoe would be a great shape and add a little glamour plus you could accessorise in the colour.

The shoes you have are cute but as someone else said ankle straps aren't the most flattering of options, a court style would elongate your legs and look more evening.

bonfirewithaheartofgold · 06/11/2009 23:22

stop freaking her out about tf shoes, especially if you;re pointing her towards next as an alternative

ThatVikRinA22 · 06/11/2009 23:35

defo the first dress...youll look stunning!

badietbuddy · 06/11/2009 23:41

bonfire, what's wrong with giving an opinion??! I'm sure noone's trying to 'freak her out' for goodness sake. They are lovely shoes. They just don't go with the dress

momijigari · 06/11/2009 23:41

I like the first one, and your wedding dress. You look really good in the first one, some colour would be good. Have fun!

lowrib · 07/11/2009 00:32

Definitely the first one, and glam it up, or your wedding dress - lovely!

purpleduck · 07/11/2009 01:32

FIRST ONE!!!!!

giddykipper · 07/11/2009 08:29

Ankle straps aren't an issue, I don't need my legs elongating, they are 36 inch anyway.

Don't worry, all opinions well received, the only problem is that I don't have the time or resources to go and buy new shoes now!
