Which hideous colour for this quite hideous but warm-looking coat thing?

This has neither style nor beauty but I think I want need one anyway

Justifications:
It's fecking cold where I live (Dublin) and winter lasts at least 6 months.
I have a dog that needs to be walked every day. By me. In the freezing cold.
I also have to walk DD3 to/from playschool 30 minutes round trip, in the freezing cold .

My 2 rather elegant wool coats aren't cutting the mustard; I need something duvet-esque. I promise not to wear it 'out' out

None of the colours appeal much..
I usually love navy, but this one has lurid pink trim/lining?
The red's a bit bright, no?
Brown might make me look like a giant poo?
Think I'm leaning toward Teal..

That's a body warmer. You'll freeze.

It has sleeves! They can zip off..

Get one of these from Uniqlo instead for less than half the price. And while you're at it get some of their lovely heat tech thermal things.

I have seen these in one of the Boden shops. I think the turquoise is a lovely colour. It is bright but nice with it!

The brown and navy are nice too. The red is too red in my opinion.

i am SO with you on the need for inelegant but cosy duvet-warmth in the harsh winter months...i live in my north face one (chocolate brown), i think if you are willing to spend that sort of money, might as well upgrade to something that equips you for proper alaskan winters and suchlike!

I bought this because I needed something to survive the bitterly cold winter, in the far NE of Scotland, stylish & beautiful it aint, but warm, waterproof and arse covering it is.

i'd spend a bit more and get this it'll live up to the dublin weather, unlike the boden one IMO, and is prettier, but plainer, so more likely to last years

I nearly got this...have you had your colours done? I just did...what is your colouring like? I think it could look nice if you get the right colour...

8oreighty, no I haven't had colours done, I do wash out quite easily, but orange and red seem to flatter me, surprisingly!

My hair is naturally dark brown, but I have subtlish highlights of gold and lighter brown. No freckles in the winter, ie now, but freckle-up as soon as I see sunshine

I bought a more stylish padded jacket in Zara today, it's black and surprisingly flattering (ie, does not make me look fat). Down filled, but not overly padded so possibly not very very warm...It was also a bit cheaper, at 70 Euros.
I haven't taken tags off yet, not totally sure..will check with my fashion-savvy mate tomorrow.

I had great difficulty finding this thread today, and started thinking Boden hq must have asked it to be pulled down for describing their stock as hideous

Have you tried the Gap 'warmest' coats? They are not too ptetty, but are down-filled and supposed to be very warm!?
