Long boots ...

Hi

Can anyone please help me? I am a size 14 top / 16 bottom and usually live in bootcut jeans, long sleeved t-shirts and cardis. I always err on the side of caution about new things so end up never buying them and so stay stuck in my rut!

I love this years long boots (I secretly desire to be able to wear skirts and long high heeled boots but when I get up in the morning always go for the comfy option!)

I have seen a couple of pairs of flat long boots - Milbury Hill from Clarks (www.clarks.co.uk/find/Department-is-women/ProductType-is-boots/SubProductType-is-longlegboot /product-is-20334061) and black 2 buckle tramline boots from Next (www.next.co.uk/shot.asp?extra=sch&b=X44&p=292&s=14&n=Women&pid=488-585&exclude=00E00&returnu rl=%2fshop%2fgattgender%2fwomen%2fcat%2fboots%2f0%3fnxti%3d0%26nxtv%3d0%26isort%3dglobalpop&bct=%26q uot%3bShop%20By%20Product%26quot%3b%26nbsp%3b%26gt%3b%26nbsp%3bWomen%26nbsp%3b%26gt%3b%26nbsp%3bBoot s)

Do you like either of these? Could I wear them with bootcut jeans (I presume I could roll up the bottoms to get them in)? Would I need to get skinny jeans (not sure my legs are up to it to be honest!)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I like both the boots but wouldn't wear them with bootcut jeans.
I would wear them with;
skinny jeans
leggings and a tunic top
skirt and opaque tights
knitted dress and opaque tights

Thanks Clure

Do you think at my size I am too large for those? I used to be a size 10 and wore lots of dresses and opaques but have lost confidence now that I am larger

ok

what do you mean by long high heeled boots?
Do you mean wedge boots of desire?
or late 90's fmb?

long boots with boot legs makes no sense to me
hows about some nice bit longer than ankle ones for your jeans?

Ronaldinhio · 01/11/2009 12:51

these flat riding boot types in black or brown
similar but nicer?
wedge bit smarter?
these all come in wide
I bought some fly boots this year but my friend tried the same and didn't get her legs in them but she is a fit type....

Charney · 01/11/2009 13:09

Hi Ronaldinhio

I like the first 2 boots but they are both sold out! Typical ...

Charney maybe go and try on some skinny type jeans see how they look and how you feel in them?
I agree with Ronaldhinhio, some ankle boots with bootlegs. I've just bought these to wear with my bootlegs
how about something like this with long boots?

gorgeousgirl · 01/11/2009 13:46

I have some knee length boots that I wear with bootcuts... To save money really - I also wear them with skirts dresses etc. It's just thought- If you see some long ones you like, go for it then you have lots of options.

Charney I am size 14 bottom (sometimes 16 depending on how much I've eaten the shop) and I wear long boots with leggings, skinnies etc. As long as your arse is covere dit looks great. I have heeled and flat chunky biker boots

Charney · 01/11/2009 14:24

Thanks all. Does anyone know, if the Next boots are listed as out of stock on their website - would they get any more in?

I've got these, they're really smart.
Im really unsure about buying new things as well and this was me being brave, i wore them all day shopping today and they are like wearing your slippers, very comfy.
I did buy these skinny jeans to wear with them, as my other ones bunched up at the knees.
I don't think it matters what size you are for skinny jeans if your wearing them with boots/longish top.

Hi Clure

I love the dress you linked but like the black dress and brown boots. I presume that these wouldn't go ....?

Thanks again

I would say the black dress with brown boots and black tights would go. Glad you liked it, I have a similar on but plain (from primark)

Chandon · 03/11/2009 09:24

yes, wear with knit dress and opaque tights! Is very flattering for your body shape and size (mine is similar)

Charney · 03/11/2009 11:26

Thanks. I will see if I can find them to try them.

Really hoping the dress looks good on me - I think it could be the way to go. Very excited about going shopping for once!!!!
