Has anyone bought from BRAND ALLEY?? Ordered a month ago, starting to worry

I ordered two separate orders, neither have arrived. Had one strange email saying one was delayed (not referencing the number of the order so I don't know which one and no explanation)

Any chance they've gone bankrupt with my stuff/cash?

Anyone received anything from them OK?

Yes, I've bought stuff from them and never had any probs. It always takes ages to arrive which is v annoying, but it should be fine

chattermouse · 01/11/2009 10:34

Just looked at companies house and there is a company listed as brand alley and it is not showing as dissolved. Did you pay on your credit card? If so, don't worry, your credit card should reimburse any loss. If this is the case then contact the company and ask them to send your order or cancel it and refund. If they fail to do either then contact your credit card provider to report the matter.

I have sometimes noticed that in the small print on their stuff it states that deliveries will not be dispatched until some ridiculous time in the future, over a month in the case I remember when I was going to order some Lola Rose jewellery for my mum's bday.

I ordered a hotmilk bra a couple of weeks ago and still haven't heard anything.

LaurieScaryCake · 01/11/2009 10:41

hmm....I used my bank card but paid through paypal for the extra protection

I still would rather have the stuff than cancel (one of the orders was 80 quid on Stila make-up) and if I'd paid full price for the make-up (ten years worth) then it would have cost over 400 quid.

I ordered a pair of jeans from Brandalley in the spring, it took about a month as it was sent by the manufacturer but it did eventually arrive.

faustina · 01/11/2009 15:24

it does take forever - it's a big pain. You can check the estimated delivery time if you go to the website and login. They send you a message when they despatch too

morning, it always takes that long, very frustraing when you are eagerly awaiting a bargain. I think it is something to do with the orders coming from the original companies. If you look on your order info it will tell you the estimated delivery time.

Their customer service is good though, just send them an email if you are worried.

Flightattendant · 02/11/2009 08:18

I think it's a similar principle to Twoleftfeet, but better iygwim...ie they take orders then wait till they have enough demand for a large quantity, then they can go ahead and get them at wholesale prices.

TLF went bust in a big way after years of complaints, watchdog etc. i ahve ordered some bras too but understand it may take a few more weeks...not too worried. (yet)

LaurieScaryCake · 02/11/2009 08:24

I have just logged in and looked, they haven't even been scheduled for dispatch yet - one I order on the 30th September.

Thanks all for posting your experiences.

That's weird Laurie, I am sure it said delivery may take up to a month.

PavlovtheWitchesCat · 02/11/2009 08:30

i have ordered about 2 weeks ago and order stated to expect delivery between 1-29 november. If that is any help? They seem to take a while but i am not complaining at the major discounted price and free delivery i had...

Maybe they are also using royal mail?

RamblingRosa · 02/11/2009 08:45

I've ordered from them lots and it does always take ages. It usually states how long (and it's usually about a month). As other people have said, it's because they take orders until they've got enough demand to buy in bulk or something. I don't know exactly how it works.

Don't worry though. They are a real company and it will turn up...it might just take a bit longer than you're used to.

LittleFriendSusan · 02/11/2009 23:38

I ordered some Pilgrim jewellery from them on 6th October and it arrived last Friday (I too was thinking it would never turn up!) - have you checked on your order confirmation? Mine says the expected despatch date just below the delivery address

Gary60 · 08/11/2013 11:51

Yes 2 orders first arrived o.k.,Second its now at a month no phone lines connected continually blame IT department no help whatsoever nothing seems to have changed used a switch card bank says cant help. I won't use them again suggest everyone else avoids them. the old saying if its if the price looks too good to be true come to mind.

hollyisalovelyname · 09/11/2013 00:25

I ordered stuff before and they did take a while to arrive but were fine. They seem to have changed the mobile website and it's a pita. You have to log in before seeing what's available.

StatisticallyChallenged · 09/11/2013 10:17

I've used brandalley loads of times and they've been fine but they do seem to have issues just now. I placed an order from the outlet on 6th October. stuff arrived about 10 days later which is slow for the outlet. I sent it back but haven't heard a peep. they didn't actually charge my card until the 31st October by which time the stuff had already been returned. there is also no record of the order on my order history

nocarsgo · 09/11/2013 10:18

They take a long while to deliver because they tend not to hold any stock themselves, but I've never had a problem with them.

SnowBells · 09/11/2013 10:49

Hmmm… tried signing up for it, but always hit an error page...

ygritte · 09/11/2013 21:30

I've never had a problem with them, apart from last Christmas I ordered some things as gifts....waited ages (expected) but then only half the order arrived 2 days before Xmas. I was only charged for the items that arrived but it was frustrating.

Tweet2tweet · 10/11/2013 08:00

They are having huge problems at the moment. Look at the FB and Twitter pages. Literally hundreds if complaints. I reversed my paypal payments and finally received a visa refund. They have messed up their orders with a new IT system. I would think carefully before ordering anything until they have sorts out their IT problems.

Tweet2tweet · 10/11/2013 08:01

of complaints

hollyisalovelyname · 10/11/2013 10:45

Loads of complaints on the Internet at the moment.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 10/11/2013 10:47

Since the OP asked this question 4 years ago I would assume she received her items by now
