What a ridiculous idea

Kitten fucking heels. Even the NAME is shit.

Either wear a heel, or don't. Just don't totter precariously on a little KNOB of a heel. They just make your legs look fat.

yy you're right, but I'll use a Zimmer frame when I actually have to, not willingly.

GetOrfMoiLand · 30/10/2009 10:00

I would never ever wear kitten heels. They are purely for people who want to have high heels but can't walk in 'em. They are a crap compromise.

Either wear flats or proper high heels.

MamaG · 30/10/2009 10:03

GOML don't be coming on here, in all your Next finery

SSH - hardly anyone else looked at that thread so my secret is safe.

Anyway, get it right, I haven't actually bought much anything from there, was just thinking about it.

(If I get that dogstooth dress and wear it with bright blue tights, will everyone think I am a twat?)

MarshaBrady · 30/10/2009 10:21

just to redeem myself I wore (probably) a load of dodgy crap in the 90s - grunge for one.

But never kitten heels. and no polyester wide leg 'pants'.

Many, many of those in the offices I worked at did.

Lip liner featured at the same time irrc

The expression "kitten heels" makes my teeth itch.

Its just so twee.

Why on earth are they called that?

(oh, and I wouldn't wear them either)

TrillianSlasher · 30/10/2009 11:35

It is a horrible name, too. Definitely.

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/10/2009 11:51

Thank God. I thought it was just me that hated them. Have never been able to see the point of them as they make even the slimmest of legs look fat.

MamaG · 30/10/2009 13:43

oh I like them

PrettyCandles · 30/10/2009 13:48

Well, I love my kitten heels.

So there!

OrmIrian · 30/10/2009 13:49

Also when you have big feet they are particularly absurd.

carriedababi · 30/10/2009 14:04

all the pain of heels with no height benefit.

GetOrfMoiLand · 30/10/2009 14:05

I have size 9 feet and they look like boats in kitten heels (and ballet flats for that matter).

Yay fox!

And what's more, I'm wearing them on Sunday at my parents' Golden Wedding party, with swishy flared velvet trousers.

I'm fat, and I tall, and I've got big feet and I am going to look good.

(The only question, now, is do I wear the dainty, flowery slingbacks with the dark red trousers, or the black patent ankle boots with the black trousers? Or maybe the black boots with the red trousers?...)

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/10/2009 15:46

Mama - I've posted in 3 s&b threads now. Perhaps I'm going down with something?!

cornsilk · 30/10/2009 15:53

I own one pair of kitten heels which I bought for ds2's christening and they have been worn once. They are all scuffed from my constantly tripping over in them. They distracted from the horrific hair disaster I had been subjected to though. Yellow and orange tiger stripes teamed with a Laura Ashley dress is not a good look.

purplepeony · 30/10/2009 16:28

well i think they are gorgeous.
I have a pair of DUO black suede boots with kitten heel s and they are ultra gla. Kirov is the name of them.

cornsilk · 30/10/2009 16:34

Boots with kitten heels are nicer than shoes. They're allowed.

MorrisZapp · 30/10/2009 17:30

I've got a pair of those shoes but didn't know they were called kitten heels.

Anyway - I love them! Instant glamour with little effort. What's not to love.

They look great with my normal jeans (ie don't have to buy longer ones) and give me the 'high heel wiggle' without the pain.

Fab. Miaow!

EdgarAllenPoo · 02/11/2009 22:31

i like them, though the lower portion of my leg is slim.. and mine are round-fronted.

i trip over less than i do in taller heels.

i think they are cute...though like all items, for the right person.
