Not sure if this is a S&B thread but...

ordered a nightdress from JL website late Saturday and it has arrived NOW- and that's with free P&P.

I knew they were intent on beating the postal strike but this is brilliant!

chandon- you did the right thing- I got a 10- am between 8-10 (like Rula I imagine) and it is just okay - not a lot of room round hips, but I do need to lose 5lbs recently put on round middle.

I think thiswww.johnlewis.com/35015/Style.aspx is more Rula-

oh- you get a purple lovely silk padded coat hanger with the nightie too- doesn't say so on the web- won't be hanging the nightie on it, but it's nice for the wardrobe!

They are rapidly running out of stock ladies- and the White Company'd are around £60!

I love John Lewis, love it, it is a bastion of my childhood. Actually my whole life. I would miss it if we ever moved far from one of their branches (spent many formative years at Peter Jones in London as a child, Bainbridges in Newcastle as a student, wedding list at Cole Brothers in Sheffield.). DS and I are off to JL in Sheffield to get him fitted for his first shoes next week. It has never occurred to me that we would go anywhere else! DH thinks that having lunch at John Lewis is the height of middle class grownupness!

And their baby clothes are fab!

The long black boots I ordered yesterday (link further down the page) arrived at 11am this morning Excellent service from JL.

Now just need to decide whether I'm keeping them.

I think their children's clothes can be really fabulous too.

I would give anything for a "supermarket sweep" in JL- the household stuff is fab.
Service beyond compare.
