If you are large of bottom and bulgy of belly would this dress make it all worse?

monsoon amara dress

I need a dress to go with purple heels.

Depends how large your bottom really is - if it's only large compared to your waist, that dress would look fab. If it's larger than, say, an 18, that dress might look a bit aubergine-y and maybe a different shape would be better.

fab colour!

size 16 although a monsoon 14 maybe.

I wouldn't consider a size 16 large of bottom or belly, and I'm sure you'd look fab in that dress! If you're more hourglass shape, say Holloby Willoughby, that dress would accentuate your decolletage whilst detracting from areas you say you're large of.

I'd go for it then.

WOuld be great for bulgy tummy as would drag the eye to nipped in waist.

BF calls her Holly Willobooby

nevergoogledragonbutter · 23/10/2009 00:07

I like it. But HATE bows on the back of dresses. Why do monsoon do that?

When your on the bigger side, a bow just makes me feel like a christmas present. A big pudding.

DP refers to her breasts as Holloby Willoby's!

At least she's got an arse and a mummy tummy I guess!

nevergoogledragonbutter · 23/10/2009 00:32

I don't know much about holly willoughby although i suspect she isn't 5'3.

Oh dear, I tried it on and looked like one of these.

Shape was fine from the front but way too much fabric at the back.

why not go for something dead clashy like orange

nevergoogledragonbutter · 23/10/2009 16:31

Yes, I think the purple needs to contrast with a gold or orange.

Alternatively I could just send them back as they were meant to go with something else and didn't quite match the outfit.
