I have a nice new coat, but as to what to wear underneath it, I haven't got a clue. Presumably I do have to wear something underneath it, right?

lunch date at the weekend? then jeans ok, unless its a smart place. nice top in a colour. not black unless you look GREAT in black.

if during the week then what you normally wear to work ( assuming you are going in your lunch break)

date will not notice smart coat unless you plan to wear it during the meal. esp if its a man

Oh no, I am A Nice Girl and will not be showing off my underwear or getting laid on a (first) lunch date.

My advice

Wear heels, not wedges

either show off leg or cleavage but obviously not both at the same time

it's fine to wear jeans but I would wear skinny jeans as they show your figure off more

Thanks for your suggestions So - heeled boots, jeans, no pants nice pants, and nicely textured top / tunic (I havethis one - is it too dull? Need nice accessories I suppose)

I am so overthinking this. Haven't been on a date in aaages so maybe this is a way displacing the nerves. He says he'll be wearing crushed velvet loon pants and a green tank top.
