The 20% isn't showing in the basket though

chattermouse · 20/10/2009 22:18

I am thinking that given I won't have to pay till jan I shall order a bow cardi (blue), a twist scoop neck top (navy/white), the happy day 'bubble' skirt (blue) and a stripey hem skirt (navy/red). It comes in at £200 and so £160 after 20% discount. These are the only things i like! That's me done for the season then .

If anyone figures out what the 20% code actually is then please post it so i can make my order! TIA

wideratthehips · 20/10/2009 22:25

the striped skirt looks like a wind breaker

lisalisa · 20/10/2009 22:30

Oh dear. I have never seen such a dreary collection. Icould count on one hand the things I liked. I'm sure they'll add more to collection as season gets nearer and cetainly through season but I saw nothing that would tempt me at all.

Now the current winter collection - that's a different kettle of fish and having already spent an obscene amount I've got my eye on a few more pieces.

chattermouse · 20/10/2009 22:38

Don't talk to me the the current season lisa, so many gorgwous things . I bought lots but happily i am all done now. I am honestly pleased the new season is crap. I really did not want to spend anywhere near that much at Boden again. I have lots of summer clothes already so don't really need much new stuff. Will wait and see whats fashionable in the summer, then pick a few key bits up nearer the time.

TheCappster · 20/10/2009 22:39

spring? SPRING?

kittya · 20/10/2009 22:45

What did you buy out of this season? I only bought the cashmere cropped cardi and the leopard sneakers. I ordered lots more but sent it back. I think the sizes are way out this year.

50ftQueeniefromtheblacklagoon · 20/10/2009 22:45

Right, that's dd's 18-24 month wardrobe started then......

chattermouse · 21/10/2009 09:42

Where do I start

I got a cloudspotter mac (is reallly great in the rain) merino ruffle tunic, hand printed cardi, tank tops, round crew necks, fun skirts in black hoops and in birds, printed skirt, favourite v neck cardis, velvet wide leg trousers (which are AMAZINGLY flattering and i can't recommend them enough), heartwarming henely (in all 3 colourways - , but in my defence they fit me perfectly and are sleek and lightweigh; i don't usually buy jumpers as they look too bulky)and hoop crinkle shirt. I'm still waiting for the grey henely to arrive and am also waiting on a double layer twisted top in brown. i suspect that one won't fit me though as the empire lines on boden stuff seem to high for me at 5ft 9.5.

Everything i bought though i used the £10 off code for each item, so got great savings and free postage. best of all, everything pretty well matches with everything so i have lots of choice re what to wear now. I literally had no clothes that fitted now i'm done with having babies. have just lost all my baby weight so went a bit mad . It really was time for a new wardrobe .

Re sizing. All my tops are 8's and i would say they are pretty true to size. Bar the round neck crew cardis which in the end i sent back cos they were too baggy. My skirts are a 10 and i would say that they are quite generous for a 10. The trousers are a 10 and i would say that they are on the smaller side of a 10. Agree that the sizing is not standard across the range.

chattermouse · 21/10/2009 09:46

And has anyone worked out what the 20% code is yet? the link does not work for me

purplepeony · 21/10/2009 10:01

chattermouse- see my post under BODEN PREVIEW DISCOUNT

purplepeony · 21/10/2009 10:05

Boden preview site gone down now- are they making the discount changes???

kittya · 21/10/2009 23:06

I got the 20percent email today. I forgot about the printed skirt, I love that skirt and it sold out so quickly. Is very flattering. I also got the velvet pencil skirt which I was pleased with. The cashemere cardis are practically identical to the ones that are still on the sale pages.

kittya · 21/10/2009 23:07

Ps, what do you mean you used the £10 voucher code for each item? I never realised you could do that!

pleasechange · 22/10/2009 08:37

kittya - XNHT for £10 off

upahill · 22/10/2009 08:48

Nothing grabbing me I'm afraid. I'll stick to my Grat Plains stuff and I've got my 20% voucher of the autumn catalogue.

chattermouse · 22/10/2009 09:35

Yep, just buy each piece seperately and put the £10 off code in each time. I both saved and spent a fortune!

The printed skirt is lovely. Got it in the brown flowerburst. Looks great with my brown and my grape heartwarming henleys and my pink and azzure crew neck tops. Also matches my green favourite v neck cardi. It does make dressing in the morning easier when most things match! I bet the velvet skirt is nice. The velvet wide leg trews are very soft and strokable

Mybox · 22/10/2009 10:18

Where are the long skirts and long line cardi's? Nothing that I like - hope that things will be added.

NecromancyRocks · 22/10/2009 13:08

Spring?! It's October!!!!!

Kasiapillar · 23/10/2009 01:14

Funnily enough I do like the new season as they sized down - at last (!) & have more versatile colours on offer. I do adore those & the details but also noticed some of the items (Santorini Cardi) strangely resemble Hollister stuff....hmmm + the tote bag (AE Outfitters???)...? Is Boden getting a tad younger ? Not that I'm complaining , just a thought..

& as for the 20% off + free postage - here's what works for me: PR1V

P.S. I have the impression that their prices have gone up a trifle...

purplepeony · 23/10/2009 08:17

I like some Boden stuff, but think the prices are getting silly- many of their tops are in fact just cotton T shirts and they are around £25- £29.
Considering they are mail order and with no premises overheads like stores, they are charging high prices.

I think they are pitching themselves alongside the likes of Hobbs and Jigsaw re. prices.

fishie · 23/10/2009 08:21

have you been in jigsaw lately pp? their prices are stratospheric!

purplepeony · 23/10/2009 08:27

yep- been in Jigsaw- not much I like these days but prices are silly- used to pay £50ish for a nice cardi or jumper and think that was pricey- now everything is £70+- haven't bought anything for ages. Toyed with their summer dresses- linen strappy thing- but for £90+ ? errrr, no.

Kasiapillar · 23/10/2009 13:02

If I may pitch in, Abercrombie & Fitch have gone mad in their Autumn/Winter 2009 collection - £320 for a long chunky sweater made in the Far East (knowing that their stuff lasts a few washes only!)!! What a cheek!

tulip27 · 23/10/2009 16:15

Now I'm shopping and not working, darn these Boden threads.
