according to my nearly 7 year old dd. I have some lovely Gymboree ones I bought her about 2 years ago in the sale which still fit but now she is refusing to wear them. God help me when she becomes a teenager.

My dd has refused to wear anything other than a skirt or a dress for about 6 months (leaving us with a stack of brand new Autumn and Winter trousers that are completely unworn) because "I'm not a boy, Mummy". She's only 4, heaven knows how it'll be when she's 7

How did you manage to get her to agree to "trouser days"? I'm met with point-blank refusal, even on the coldest days or if we're grubbing in the garden.

Is this what happens when they get a bit older then?

DD is only 20 months and creates if she's not wearing certain shoes!

LOL WWM & Pamina . I bought her a vest top the other day in Tesco but didn't realise until I got home that the straps are ajustable so looks a bit like bra straps at the back. She is soooooo chuffed and keeps telling Daddy "Look I've got ladies underwear on". Whilst all the time I'm thinking it would look lovely with your shorts!!

It was what happened to us at 3.5 - everything has to be pink as well, or at least what she terms a "girl's colour".

Yep NBG, it only gets worse. She wouldn't get in the bath with her cousin (female) of the same age the other day without her bikini on first.

blimey hope Im not in for this with dd!!! Not sure I could cope. esp after dss who even now at 13 wear whatever he is handed and thinks that having to decide what clothes to wear is just ssoooo not fair as its too much effort. Makes for an easy life so it does.

I think it's nursery that my dd gets it from, too, Pamina. I always wear trousers too, and dd used to refuse to wear skirts or dresses, until she started pre-school and saw that other little girls wore dresses sometimes - the rest of them all wear trousers as well, but not mine.

And she has so many of them that she knows they won't always all be in the washing machine

We have enough issues with her and choosing shoes, let alone all this!!
