Desperate to find comfortable, trendy high heels... do they actually exist???

I am so fed up of compromising on a night out outfit because I can't find any shoes that are comfortable. I have ruined so many nights out having to take my shoes off halfway through as they are so uncomfortable. How does everyone else do it??? I love the heels around atm but can't wear them

The secret is wedges or thick heels. I sometimes wear the highest shoes known to womankind but because they are like this i can tolerate them.

these are the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. look great with jeans, trousers or a skirt always getting complimants on them. They do come in other colours if you don't fancy the green.

Oh I am watching this thread with interest I am 5'1" and have spent the last 15 years in trainers and flat boots.

If you mean the ludicrously high things that are around at the moment then I actually don't think it is possible to be comfortable and as such I refuse to buy even if they look lovely in the shop.

Personally, 3 inches/10cm heel is my absolute limit, possibly 3.5 inches /12 cm if they have a platform on the front but no higher than that.

For some reason I can't do wedges, just can't walk in them, don't know why.

I also think there is nothing worse than seeing someone hobbling around in shoes that are too tall for them - have seen loads of people walking with their shoulders hunched and their bums stuck out in order to over-compensate for the way 4/5 inch heels make you throw your weight forward. Far better to walk tall in something lower imo.

wel I personally have decided to give up on 3"ers as I am in agony after about an hour and it sucks
went to a wedding and wore these they are def not trendy and probably quite mumsy but I managed all evening in comfort so don't give a stuff

Right I have no idea if this is true or not as I don't wear high heels but I have read in some magazine or internet or somewhere that the more expensive high heels (i.e. louboutin, choo etc) are more comfortable because they are better engineered or some such bollocks. It is worth getting a second opinion on this before shelling out £300+

anyway,i heard loads of people say that the platforms(that way you dont need to compromise on height,youre even taller) are meant to be more comfortable,so maybe give it a go and also that gel thingy for the inside of your shoe!

i wear these their range has reduced substatially in the last year, they no longer seem to do boots.

but i buy mine off ebay. i ill say some of the ranges are endorsed by the american podiatry association. its like walking on cushions.

i have arthritis in my feet and just cannot wear normal shoes in my teaching job. without my danskos i would be in granny shoes but at least with these i can look passable and still manage to get around.

you really have to try a pair to feel how good they actually are compared to even footglove or some of the clarkes range.

I'm 5'3" and a committed heel wearer (except at the mo. due to being 40+8 and suffering chronic odema )

I'd recommend the following:

• don't choose the skinniest spike heels, something a bit chunkier will be easier on the ankles

• Equally, the rounder the toe, the comfier it will be

• anything with a platform/hidden platform will raise the ball of the foot so you're not straining on your toes so much

• I'm a big fan of the gel inserts you can get for all ball of the foot (eg by scholl) but your shoe will need to be a bit bigger to accommodate them comfortably

• A full shoe is more comfy than anything strappy which will cut into the foot

• Whilst I'd advise avoiding anything really cheap, I don't think Louboutins or Choos are that much more comfy when wearing over a long period of time (I do own the odd pair ) my absolute favourite comfy heels are about 5" high, from Reiss. They have a rounded pointy-toe, a heel about 1/2 an inch thick and a small platform. I've got the gel inserts in and could practically walk a marathon in them!

*wedges are also fab for comfort if you follow the rules above (re: straps and cheapness) but as a heels purist I don't think these count as high heels, more "height enablers"!!!

I have the same problem and have just bought these..they are about as comfy as you can get for hugh shoes. They make your legs look great too!!

the most comfortable pair of heels i own are very high and look fairly unstable (lots of thin straps) but i could happily run for a bus in them. they came from LK bennett (sale) so maybe there is something to the more expensive shoes are comfier theory - i think it is about how they are balanced, so where the pressure falls on your foot, but they are comfier than shoes i have that are half as high

I am not a high heel wearer.

I hate to say it but on my wedding day I wore a £300 pair of 4" heels and I even bought a mumsy pair as back up to wear after the church service.

I never put the comfy ones one- they were easily the most comfy high heels I have ever worn and I even managed to do the Charles Bridge twice (really rough cobbles) no problem.

I trashed the shoes mind you.
