I have been after a plaid shirt-dress for a while now, with buttons for bfing, so I ordered this and it is so not worth £79!!! It's going straight back. It really is, as the name suggests, a long shirt - not nearly dress-like enough for my liking and the cotton is really quite thin, not really winter-appropriate.

Anyway, given the massive price difference - and given the fact that I just want something practical with a bit of colour, I think I might order this Uniqlo one Have never bought from them before, any input re sizes/ quality/ fit??

Uniqlo quality is cracking - their merino and cashmere manages to be both soft and unfeasibly sturdy. Cotton enduring and doesn't run.

I think Toast is a rip-off - every piece photographs well and they use very good stylists indeed to create their catalogue, but the pleasure ends there, for me.

ah well, after all of that, I went to Gap today and picked up 2 checked shirtdresses in the sale .... about £12 each.

Done!

Disappointed again ...

One of the dresses looks rubbish.
The other looks good.
Sod it, I only need one.
