here

I want a single breasted grey coat. I have a purple coat, a navy coat, various patterned coats...

I need something plain for when you just can't bring in another colour or pattern. I make it sound like i dress like a clown. I don't!

M&S has a lovely grey fine cord one, I'll find a link.

i've got that boden one, is much nicer than the pic but boiled wool, unlined so not stiff like coats can be. i couldn't find anything else like it.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 07/10/2009 14:50

I just ordered that coat in 'ocean'. I've been looking for a decent winter coat for ages.

There doesn't seem to be much around this year.

MaggieBehave · 07/10/2009 17:48

Fishie, is it warm? I don't mean warm enoguh for minus 4 kind of weather, but just warm enough for a cold winter day (with gloves & Hat)

MaggieBehave · 07/10/2009 17:50

There isn't an 'ocean' colour is there? Yu mean 'teal'??

OP posts:
Doyouthinktheysaurus · 07/10/2009 19:44

Yes, apparently it's called 'ocean'...that's what the order confirmation says anyway

Looks more like teal to me too.

tulpe · 07/10/2009 21:15

Am gutted you linked to that Boden coat. Had never noticed it before in catalogue or online.......and now I waaaaant it soooo badly

In teal.

fishie · 07/10/2009 21:21

hard to say re warmth, it is dense but thin. i am london commuter so it will do fine for that.

MaggieBehave · 07/10/2009 22:38

I need a better than 10% off code. last year, people were posting 15% off codes... haven't seen any this year.

OP posts:
MarthaFarquhar · 07/10/2009 22:40

very much cheaper

MaggieBehave · 07/10/2009 22:44

lncc gives 15% off btw.

OP posts:
MaggieBehave · 07/10/2009 22:46

Maggie - Johnnie has just launched his winter collection. Offer of moment is 11% (code is A515). Tbh, you are probably better off going thru MN code and getting 10% off with free delivery & returns. I am sure the 15% will be happening in the next week or so.

You can register on the boden website for info about discounts etc.

If anything comes up through our email in the next week or so I shall post codes on here.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 07/10/2009 23:19

HB18 works for 15% off.

MaggieBehave · 08/10/2009 07:45

yeah you might as well get 15% off if you can. I don't get free delivery as Im in Ireland. So if I buy a coat at £130 it'll show up on my vias as about 160 euro (??) so I really, really want to get a goood discount code. I'm going to think about it for another day or two. Have looked in ever shop and seen nothing similar.

purplepeony · 08/10/2009 09:11

I have that coat- not worn it yet- got it with 20% off as a preview offer.
It is quite warm, i think- and I'd say medium weight. I have it in grey which is almost black really.
If you are in between sizes, I'd say size up- normally I'd get into an 8 but this is a 10.

MaggieBehave · 08/10/2009 09:22

right thanks for that purplepeony.. I mgiht ask jonnie for a pitty discount, 20% pretty please. if i can get it 20% off I order it, if not, trop cher pour moi.

OP posts:
MaggieBehave · 08/10/2009 09:23

my 'pal' jonnie.

bumping for the 15% off codes

OP posts:
MaggieBehave · 09/10/2009 12:16

I can't find a code that works for more than 10%. Ithink if you are spending a small fortune then it gives you 15% off, but on a coat which is still over 100£ it only gives 10% off. not that great.
