What colour would suit me best?

A friend of mine says she thinks I am a winter person (dark hair, dark eyes, fair skin although if I stay in the sun I do get a bit of a tan)

What are the colours that would really look nice on me and more importantly will make ME look nice?

Are there any internet sites that would help me comfirm I am indeed a "winter" person?

You sound a bit like me colouring wise and the colours I look best in are the vibrant jewel-type shades especially purple, turquoise and pink.

Also good for me are reds and greens.

I avoid black as it makes me look like a corpse.

I have no idea about season btw!

I'm not sure about sites - try googling "find your colours" or "colour me beautiful" or something similar and see what comes up

from what you say, it sounds to me as though you would suit pinks, greens and deep chocolatey brown ....for starters. What colour eyes do you have?

Anyone who really is a winter can definitely wear black.
No wishy-washy colours and, as someone said, lovely strong jewel shades. 'Winter' white as well.
But it's really hard to judge for yourself where your colouring falls, so I'd strongly suggest saving up to have them 'done,' or getting them as a present.
It saves heaps of time when shopping.

I would have thought you would suit all those gorgeous jewel tones - rich raspberries, magenta, regal purple, royal blues. You could also wear black, chocolate brown, rich navy and charcoal.

You don't need to spend loads of money on having your colours done. I have never had mine done. Through trial and error I have found the colours which really make my eyes pop and my skin glow (regardless of whether I am wearing make up or not). I have no idea what "season" I am. But I do know that since I sorted out my "colours" myself, I have had lots of compliments about my clothes and how well I look

However, I just spent one day going into all kinds of stores trying on clothes in all kinds of colours. When you hit a good or bad colour the transformation is instant - you either look amazing or you look ready for the knackers yard

By the end of the day, I knew that navy, chocolate, raspberry, pink (variety of shades),rich purples, teal, warm greys and certain shades of green (nothing too yellow) were perfect for me. I can wear white but only with one of the other colours mentioned against it. Black, yellow, neutral shades (dusky pink, cream etc) all make me look like death.

My hair colour is brunette, my skin tone is naturally pale with a gentle pinky tone and I tan easily to golden brown in summer.

Sorry I did not check my own thread for a while. I think I will be using your methodtulpe, as if I was to spend £70 odd to get my colours done, I would not actuually have anything left for the actual clothes!
