Have never been to one before.
Its my Grandads funeral so want to make sure I dont wear the wrong thing.

Options I have are:

Dark grey knee length thick fitted jersey dress, fairly smart with tights and black shoes

Lighter grey looser dress with ruched front, black tights and shoes

Grey smart trousers, light grey shirt with bow neck and black cardigan.

Or should I not wear any of them and go and buy something properly smart like a fitted jacket??? (am sahm so all my clothes are day type clothes, not really so smart)

Thanks for your advise!

I wouldn't worry about it tbh all sound fine , pretty much anything in dark colours are fine

The first sounds good to me, if it's going to be a traditional black/grey affair.

If your family are little bit more relaxed, you could add a tiny bit of colour (scarf, etc.)?

I've been to 3 funerals in the last 3 months (all DH's side, but still quite grim) and have worn mostly black but with cerise scarf or a white flower stuck in a black hat.

smart and sombre is usually the thing to aim for. they all sound good so wear whatever you are most comfortable / confident in. sorry about your granddad.
