Patent flats with a buckle? Please can you help me find some nice ones?

I am thinking about getting some patent flats to wear generally to work (with black/grey trousers) or smart with jeans and I saw some nice patent brown (kind of mock croc) with a silver buckle in Russell and Bromley.

I could go for the R & B (could convince myself they might be worth it...sorry can't find them online to link) but wondered if there are other good shoe sites to hunt??

Clarks have some nice patent pumps with buckle black coral/pink red and I think purple about £40 sorry not great with links!

These are from Dune and similar to pair I have, I think you can't go wrong with them.

Can you tell me one thing with this patent trend? How do I make sure I don't look 'plastic'?

I mean I can't tell the difference between the mega priced bags and shoes in patent to some of the cheaper ones in say M and S.
