help with no shampoo curly hair thing!!

2 dds both have curly hair, and someone has suggested not to wash with shampoo but with conditioner. What conditioner is best? we have pantene here and l'loral no tears one. Does it matter? help needed ASAP as bath time in 30mins!

I have just started this and have bought Pure Coconut Oil conditioner from Superdrug, it was £1.95, also Naked Conditioners in Boots are ok but they are £3.99.

There is a massive thread on this somewhere. The conditioner used does matter. Mustnt have silicones in it I think.So no Pantene. I am just starting the no shampoo routine and just did my first no-shampoo wash an hour ago. I used original source conditioner as mentioned on the other thread. Sorry cant do links.

You need one without Sulphates, cones and something else which I can't remember!

I'm going to try it after seeing the MN thread about it, but I've not been able to find a list of suitable shampoos. I really don't have time to wade through the ingredients lists of all the shampoos and conditioners in tesco!

just worried about kids eyes i guess! ok off to check conditioner bottles for cones, sulphates and silicones

You're looking for conditioner with nothing ending in -CONE, -CONOL or ?XANE in the ingredients list.

I have a kiddie no-tears shampoo and conditioner - Halos and Horns I think? - from tesco which meets the criteria.

no parabens either as theyre nasty. i do this with dd's hair and use johnsons baby conditioner. its 2.79 a bottle and i go thru loads but its worth it knowing that its got no nasties in it and wont a) damage her delicate scalp, or b) hurt her if it goes in her eyes.
works a treat on my daughters mixed-race hair, everyone comments how lovely it looks, shiny and conditioned, no frizz in sight

will just have to use l'loral tonight and go and buy halo and horns tomorrow. anything is better than the fizz monster that is my dd2
