Need a skirt for DD

I want a denim skirt for DD she will need age 5-6.
I want a normal style ie above the knee with very little decoration on it.
The problem I am having is she will not wear anything with an adjustable waistband, so ideally elasticated waistband. All the ones I have looked at over age 5 seem to have the adjustable waistbands. I am beginning to go demented over this.
I know I could manage without but she only wears dresses and skirts, and has so many tops that would look great with a denim skirt and tights.

Have you tried Next?

I've just bought this for DD1- the navy velour one at the bottom of the page. It's not denim but it does have a lovely soft ribbed waistband and no bits of elastic sticking out.

The website says it's only in smaller sizes, however I've just bought size 3-4 and 4-5 skirts.

And they have a 20% discount- staff are giving vouchers away.

Just got a denimn skirt from H&H from my 4 year old, the back of the waist is elasticate. It is kind of tiered but not too flouncy, it is really nice.
