Skin issue

Hello,

A friend said a Clarins beautician told her that if a product causes you to break out then it's good! That you just need to continue using it and eventually your skin will look great.

I usually abandon a product if the change i see is not positive. I just started using an oil control gel face wash now and within two days i have four huge spots on the four corners of my face (though my period is just round the corner) and where there aren't spots i have tiny rashes. So i stopped.

Sould i give it out/throw it away or have faith in what the beautician said?

I know that often a facial can cause a breakout then your skin settles down and looks better for it so it might be true.

I wouldn't worry too much about the spots as sometimes a change in skin care routine or product does cause a few spots while your skin adjusts but I'd be concerned about the rashes, especially if they're sore or itchy. You may be having an allergic reaction to something in the product. Does the brand you're using make the gel wash for sensitive skin?

If it was quite expensive then take it back. The more well known beauty companies (Lancome, Clarins, Chanel et al) are happy to advise and swap a product if you're unhappy. I'd definitely be unhappy about a rash.

It's Clearasil Oil Control Gel Wash with green tea and peppermint.

But now that i've stopped using it my face is clearer now.The rashes are disappearing and the spots are shrinking. So yes it could be an allergic reaction.
