Can anyone find me a "can't be faffed" outfit for days when I can't be faffed?

Essentially, what I am looking for, is the stylish equivalent of a tracksuit

Already have sweat pants/hoody combos.

Now I am looking for something warm that I can throw on when I need a little comfort but not so slovenly that I would not be seen out in public wearing said outfit.

I have been looking at Pyjama Room but their trousers seem so incredibly wide. Would also question whether they are warm enough for autumn/winter school runs.

I am size 8-10, 5'6" tall and relatively in proportion

Budget - don't mind but not Net-A-Porter prices

sweaty betty?

CybilLiberty · 02/10/2009 20:25

not what you are after but how fab would this look with skinny jeans and long sleeve top, belted

LetThemEatCake · 02/10/2009 20:39

What about: bendy wendy yoga pants from white stuff (about £32) with good quality l/s tee (American vintage, avail at my-wardrobe are around £50, but White stuff have some decent ones for about £25 and other MNers speak highly of American Apparel) with a long line cardi in cashmere or merino? Have a selection of scarves on hand and you're good to go

LetThemEatCake · 02/10/2009 20:44

Also, check out wellicious and hush. I have my reservations about pyjama room

CybilLiberty · 02/10/2009 20:45

Oh lordy I went into American Apparel last week and came out like this ... I just didn't get it.

LetThemEatCake · 02/10/2009 20:52

I've never seen it but the website pics always leave me utterly flummoxed... It looks well tarty. Is it?

CybilLiberty · 02/10/2009 22:37

It's.....Kids from Fame on acid. Honestly, weird bodies (with NO poppers), strange jersey trousers, bow ties. A loony mix

CybilLiberty · 02/10/2009 22:42

Have you tried googling 'Luxe Leisurewear' to see what pops up?

tulpe · 02/10/2009 22:44

Thanks for those ideas.

Will look at Hush and Wellicious.

What are your reservations about Pyjama Room, LTEC?

Agree that American Apparel website is weird. I read an article about the founder of the company last year. Apparently there is a strong "porn" influence in his approach to how the clothes should be presented and all kinds of allegations about how close he gets to employees......allegedly, allegedly............

Some really evil woman turned me onto Hush. It has lovely stuff and has worn well.

JJ · 02/10/2009 22:48

Oh, I didn't see Hush had already been mentioned! Beware though, it's addictive. It makes swanning about all day in my pjs seem like a brilliant idea. Like it wasn't already, I suppose.

Thelongroadhome · 04/10/2009 19:56

Just looked at that Hush site and it has lovely stuff. Had never heard of it before but will now have to buy some lounging stuff I think instead of my GAP ones that are all baggy at the knees and an embarrassment!

LetThemEatCake · 04/10/2009 20:51

reservations about Pyjama Room - over priced, considering the quality and style of the stuff, I think - and stock availability is always low. I rate the other 2 (hush and wellicious) much higher - they;re cooler and classier and just less daggy.

mwff · 04/10/2009 20:57

i have pjs from hush and not impressed by quality tbh, brushed cotton trousers faded very quickly.

cruelladepoppins · 06/10/2009 18:35

Oh my word, I can't see past Uniqlo Heat Tech. I would (and do!) wear Heat Tech longsleeved top, leggings, boots or shoes, with a Uniqlo merino dress over the top.
