I've been thinking about buying some converse trainers but can't decide which colour to buy.
Can anyone recommend places to buy them ?

i have not seen them in shops for ages but here on ebay

MissAnnesley · 02/10/2009 18:57

LOL I read they were uncomfortable for the first ten years and thought hmm maybe not!

susiey · 02/10/2009 19:01

I love converse

I had navy ones with red laces, pink and brown spooty patterened, black ones with lots of hole and red laces and my most recent and loved pair are pale blue silk hi tops with printed flowers on the side

deaddei · 02/10/2009 19:05

I bought my first pair last Sunday from Office (in grey) much to the disgust of 13 yr old dd.

ScaryFucker · 02/10/2009 19:29

I have 4 pairs (at the moment)

the ubiquitous navy blue hi-tops, a lime green pair with flies crawling on them, a brown pair with flames up the side and a white pair with graffiti and scribbles on

I don't find they come up big and are comfy immediately

they are no good for walking other than on the flat though-they don't do rough ground, hills or sand, I find

they are quite suportive around the ankle but the soles are quite thin

in the winter they are good with thick socks

PenguinProject · 02/10/2009 20:57

I love them. I have them in canvas red, canvas black with red and grey thin line check (black rubber instead of white) and green patent. From Office, New York clearance shop and Office again respectively. I am having a lot of trouble deciding which is my favourite btw the red and green. The red are so classic, but the green are funkier and patent means they stay clean and always look fresh.

I have bought 'converse style' from both Next and New Look and both pairs lasted about six months before developing holes or the soles coming apart. I really, really recommend buying actual converse. They seem so much more expensive at first but really will last longer.

ScaryFucker · 02/10/2009 21:11

real Converse last for ever

and they are like fine wine, improve with age

just like meself

wasabipeanut · 02/10/2009 21:16

I got a plain black pair last weekend (shoes not hight tops) and I already love them - spent this week wearing them in. Got them from John Lewis.

DS has a pair of navy high tops and looks so cool in them.

FabMum1 · 03/10/2009 18:24

I am now searching for which converse I like best.
I think it'll be either blue or something totally different like sparkly ones if I can find some. My girls love pink so that might be an option, lol!

I have navy shoe ones and dark pink high top ones.

I have wide feet and they realy hurt to begin with (I bought two pairs at once without realising my feet were actually too wide...)

They are now ok but I cannot walk as far as I usually would in them ( I do walk tons though).

didn;t think they were that big size wise - I am a 6 or 7 and got a 7.

They do go with tons of stuff and are an easy option. Find them a bit cold in the winter though

Love the sequined ones

mwff · 03/10/2009 19:45

i have to say the enthusiasm with which they're greeted on here has confirmed my lack of interest in them :P

FabMum1 · 03/10/2009 20:33

Have been searching this evening and am totally spoilt for choice, HELP!

Yippeeee have been out today and bought my first pair of converse.

There were so many to choose from, I was so spoilt for choice.

Am now thinking that maybe I need another pair

If you decide to get another pair, and want them from Schuh - I got a £5 off discount code from them - it is 'online'. Hope it still works!

I hadn't worn Converse since I was a teenager a million years ago...but recently got myself the fancy suede ones (called something like Star Players) and they are BRILLIANT

FabMum1 · 12/10/2009 12:34

Suede, I like the sound of those.
Where are they from aqua ?
