Help please - 40yr old singer - stage look that's neither mumsy nor desperate?

I'm 40, and do a bit of singing for fun. Usually these days this is as a backing singer with my soul band, where the outfit is easy: LBD.

But sometimes I do other wee bits and pieces, e.g. soon I'm doing backing vocals for a younger band at a great venue, and have nothing to wear... please help? The music is electronica...normally the others wear jeans/t-shirts.

I was wondering about something like this dress with leggings/boots.... but maybe that's still too mumsy ? Accessories? Erm... help?

Bewilderedmum, that dress looks great. Wear it with boots and opaques/leggings. And a bit of jewellery? Silver perhaps, or just some chunky bangles.
