what to wear with a monsoon denim skirt

wondering whether this is just one of those purchases u should give up on as a bad buy...bought the above and never really worn it....it is calf length and quite full, fuller than A line. i am well blessed in the hip department - and cannot work out what to wear with it on top. Anything too long looks the wrong proportion as the skirt is fullish and calf length. anything too short makes me look even hippier! any suggestions please or do i give up on it. seems a shame as it is a nice skirt! think footwear wise it prob has to be boots but its the top i am struggling with...

Ok, not completely convinced about this suggestion but here goes...

What about a vest top/t-shirt in a lengh you're happy with then a slightly longer cardi to skim your hips?

as the skirt is full, to balance it out, the top should be fitted. try what amandoh has suggested, or as it's getting a bit colder now, what about a skinny rib roll neck with a knitted tank over?

Keep the top detailed then the eye will be drawn away from your hips.

This Phase Eight cardi/top looks neither too long or too short and the pockets, lace and buttons give it focal points.

I do like the Phase 8 top ... with a vest under do you think maybe? and the tank top is a thought too...i feel a shopping trip coming on.... thanks for the ideas
