What to wear with M&S skirt

I have bought this skirt from M&S but am struggling to picture it in my head as a complete outfit. What would you wear with it?

Tricky. Something very plain black methinks.

You know you'll end up never wearing it. It will become one of those decorative items you take out of your wardrobe to look at now and again and wonder why you never wore it.

don't wear a green top or you will look like an upside down tulip

Boyfriend style jacket over a vest top??

Must say though this is why i just hardly wear skirts as find it really hard to put things with them. Dresses much easier.

When are you intending to wear it?

No will definitely wear it. Tried it on last night and it looks great. Just can't picture what kind of top and shoes would go. Thinking it needs black opaques a la Cheryl and Dannii on X-Factor, maybe some black shoe boot type thingies?

I'm normally pretty good at this stuff but just struggling a little to picture this one.

Have seen these in black in store and they were lovely.
