What's your one most useful wardrobe item? Ideally not too pricey - make your recommendations here

I would like to recommend this cardigan. It costs £25, comes in grey, black, brown, purple or blue and is machine washable (well it says dry clean only on the label but I've washed mine loads of times). It's a really fine knit and a great length. I got the black last year and have just bought the brown one. It's good over jeans, dresses and smart clothes. Really, really useful.

What have you got that's your wardrobe staple?

the most useful itam in my wardrobe is a well fitting bra- bravissimo if you are a bigger size- makes your boobs look great and can take sizes off you!

A plain black rollneck - I know, it's very dull! But I have some gorgeous light summery dresses and they look fab with a black rollneck underneath so I can wear them right through winter.

And of course, it goes with jeans, normal and coloured, mini skirts, smart trousers etc. Everything really. Mine was £4 a few years ago and hasn't lost its shape yet.

My mum is a larger-breasted lady. She swears by Bravissimo too. Changes her shape completely.

I bought a plain v-neck sleeveless black dress in the sale at whistles last year.
I wear it in the summer with flat black sandals, with jewellery and heels, with a long sleeved t-shirt underneath, with a jumper and boots.
It washes like adream and does not need ironing.
I wear it once a week.

Best £50 I ever spent
