White bikini - Mistake ?

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect beachwear for my hol in 7 weeks time. I've seen a bikini i like, but it's white. Will this be a hideous mistake ? I know I'll have to make sure that it doesn't go see-thru when wet, but will it be a faux-pas otherwise ?

I'll be lightly fake tanned for my holiday, so not pasty white (which I hope will make a mild difference to the overall effect). My colouring is dark hair & eyes.

What do you think ? It's the the colour i'm worried about rather than the shape.

personally and since you ask, I think white bikinis are a mistake for white ladies, whatever their colouring

I spent a good 20mins of my last holiday crying with laughter at my friend who couldn't get out of the pool.

I wouldn't wear a white bikini, IMO they never look good. have you tried it on?
