Short sleeved cardigans....whats the point?

If I want to wear a cardigan it is because I am cold. I want the whole thing to be snuggly warm...sleeves and all.

I have seen some gorgeous grey cardigans with a wide collar today only to be disappointed that someone has chopped the sleeves off.

Short sleeved polo necks is another thing I don't get.

If I want to be warm I want my whole body warm. If I want to be cool I want my whole body to be cool....

Lol at name. Haven't heard that for years!

They are lovely with a long sleeved top underneath.

Indeed...I was Please Mrs Butler a few weeks ago....

One of my favourite poems.

This is about looking stylish and not about being practical

layering
freak

foxinsocks · 20/09/2009 19:22

none

even worse those 3/4 length sleeves

either I want a sleeve or not. I don't want a sleeve that looks like it shrunk in the wash.

GirlsAreLOud · 20/09/2009 19:23

Um.

Some of us have fat upper arms and/or other unsightly blemishes and want to cover up a bit without wearing full sleeves.

Is that ok?

CybilLiberty · 20/09/2009 19:24

I loathe FULL LENGTH sleeves, they feel weird and always roll up to 3/4

foxinsocks · 20/09/2009 19:26

fraek

foxinsocks · 20/09/2009 19:28

I have a 3/4 sleeved one on now and keep pulling the sleeves down

Mybox · 20/09/2009 19:28

In the summer/spring they are fine but in colder weather I don't see the point of short, cropped or 3/4 length

CybilLiberty · 20/09/2009 19:30

I have been known to turn a Gentleman Callers head with the daintiness of my wrists, so will wear 3/4.

giddykipper · 20/09/2009 19:30
  1. I wear them over a dress when I don't want to show too much arm
  1. I have gibbon arms so full length ones never fit anyway.

I have loads of short sleeved cardigans.

DillyTantay · 20/09/2009 19:31

i got a fab dark grey swing one from marks two eyars ago and aalthough it shouldnt suit a be norked one it is SO handy
i wear the dreaded marks perfect top under it

CybilLiberty · 20/09/2009 19:32

with your chav 3/4 jordan joggers?

fishie · 20/09/2009 19:33

far worse is short sleeved suit jackets, as seen mainly on ladies coming from essex to liv st.

ADifferentMe · 20/09/2009 19:44

My arms are so long that nothing is ever full length on me - short sleeved cardigans at least cover my bingo wings without adding to the menopausal heat

DillyTantay · 20/09/2009 19:46

yes
ha! i have left the house in them today

CybilLiberty · 20/09/2009 19:46

I wore my jazz pants round the park

DillyTantay · 20/09/2009 19:47

i went on a(nother) feline rescue mission

CybilLiberty · 20/09/2009 19:48

no point getting dressed up for that

janeite · 20/09/2009 19:50

I agree with Cybil - v few parts of my body are good but I have lovely wrists! Am seriously considering a bracelet sleeved coat and wrist warmers this winter.

ChristieF · 30/09/2009 14:55

Yes. What is wrong with clothes designers? Cardigans/jumpers/coats are all meant to keep you warm. Why have short sleeves on them? Drives me mad. You see a lovely cardi but it has short sleeves. And 3/4 sleeves are the work of the devil. All this nonsense about being able to show off a watch or jewellery. It's about saving on the seller's costs I think.

Deeeja · 30/09/2009 15:32

I tried to wear one once, dh thought it was hilarious.
I just look stupid in them. They look nice on others
