Cool but girly bag for 11 year old, in secondary school - birthday present

I successfully bought my neices's older sister the gold shopper from Anna Lou of london and this went down very well.

But now my other neice is after a bag and of course I don't want to use the same site/same bag.

I was thinking this: but is it too mature?
oasis patent
or this
accessorize
sparkly one

Can anyone find one that is grown up enough so an 11 year old likes it, but not so she won't be seen dead with it!!

My 12 year old dd likes the Oasis and sparkly ones.
She also likes this one from Jane Norman, and this one from New Look.

does this link work?

I think your bags are on the stufft side. We pointy girls are big fans of the bags in River Island. Website not great - look in store.

dogonpoints · 16/09/2009 21:52

ah, it only links to the home page, not to the bag.

Their bags are much more hip and grooving.

LetThemEatCake · 16/09/2009 21:53

okay, I don't know that many 11yo girls but I've heard tell that these bags are quite the thing to have ....

Jewelsandgems · 16/09/2009 21:54

Thanks dexter and dexter's DD

My dd says those clippykit bags are cool!

Jewelsandgems · 16/09/2009 21:57

points I did look on river island first actually, is there a specific one you like?

LTEC love that site - some great ones on there.

I like the faux snake slouch, the glam snake pouch and the slouch hobo.

What marvellous names

ADifferentMe · 16/09/2009 22:07

Both DDs use Cath Kidston oilcloth bags - failing that, paper carriers from shops they can't afford - Jack Wills, Hollister etc

BobtheWoodmouse · 16/09/2009 22:23

Puals Boutique bags are popular with the girls in my daughter's school - that and Juicy Couture

StillOverHere · 16/09/2009 22:41

I love all of those and think I will order a clippy one for my own 11yo for Christmas.
Over here (USA) these are the absolute must have height of fashion Vera Bradley
They come in just about every style from messenger bag to glasses case to lunch bag in every hideous pattern. The more you own the cooler you are. Apparently.

Jewelsandgems · 17/09/2009 19:29

girls thanks so much! So many excellent suggestions there (most I have never heard of!)

Love the clippit messenger bag - think I will go with that.
