Ugg cleaning and care

Lovely dh just bought me some as early birthday pressie - do I need to use the ugg protection spray and cleaner or will anything for suede and sheepskin do?

I've just got some new boots and have used some general shoe protector that does everything as recommended by the girl in office - the Ugg stuff is a lot more expensive.

My mate chucks hers in the washing machine.

Ta - thought that ugg own brand stuff prob a rip off
