Please help me to accessorize this dress

I have just bought this dress (minus the flower and belt which were out of stock) to wear to a friend's wedding. I love the dress and it is very flattering on but I would really like some advice on how to complete the outfit. I don't want to look like I am going to a 1950's theme party but I would like to add some colour. I thought perhaps red shoes/clutch combo but am worried that will look too themed IYKWIM. Also I have no idea what jewellery to put with it.

All suggestions welcome.

My friend wore this dress in red and white to a party. It looked amazing. She wore sky high heels, and a flower in her hair iirc. Don't recall any other accessories as the dress was so amazing.

What about a red cardigan? And a thin red belt? Chunky black cuff or maybe some jumbo pearls?

Ewe · 14/09/2009 20:51

Oh yes, sky high heels essential!

chickatee · 14/09/2009 20:59

Thanks. Ewe, I really like that cuff. I want to keep away from a lot of red near my face as it is not a good colour on me, so maybe not a red cardigan. Red belt would be fine though. I think a little red generally goes a long way so if I had red heels and a red belt would that be enough red? (I would need bright red lips too with that I think).

Is there any other colour besides red that would look good?

yellow or lime? or white as in the pic?

chickatee · 14/09/2009 21:02

Sorry I meant a little red goes a long way on me. Choogirl, I'm sure your friend looked stunning in the red and white version.

AvadaKedavra, yes I love the idea of yellow of lime. But I wonder if it might be hard to find shoes in those colours.

A white cardigan around my shoulders might be good, but white shoes?
