Of all the things I never thought would come back, sodding ski pants!

Is anyone wearing them yet??

Oh no. Agree. Surely they must win the Most Unlikely Comeback in Fashion award??

I wore mine proudly in 1986 aged 15. Baby pink. Accessorised with baby blue ruched (sp?) boots . I am short of leg and the damn things weren't even long enough for me!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/09/2009 17:27

Bodysuits are back in this season as well - ye gods!

Whoever thought poppers and hook and eyes were a good idea in the vag area??!!

AvadaKedavra · 14/09/2009 17:29

Could get one to wear with the ski pants

Is there anywhere that is not reviving the 80s? I didn't particularly like it the first time, am sure as hell not wearing it the second time, but how long before I can actually go into a shop and come out with something I can wear???????? Can you tell I have been shopping and left unfulfilled?

Marne · 14/09/2009 17:43

OMG, my mum made me wear them as a child, i hated them, yuk yuk yuk.

bodeniites · 14/09/2009 17:46

i agree Prosecco a lot of shops are full of horrible clothes at the moment it was mingworthy the first time round dare i suggest M&S though havnt even been in there for ages or Boden>>>> runs

Maybe the shops are full of horrible clothes or maybe we are just getting old .

giddykipper · 14/09/2009 18:09

Worse than that IMHO, bodies are back.

noddyholder · 14/09/2009 18:14

I used to love a body!

scroobiuspirate · 14/09/2009 18:14

i just think fashion has a very quick turn around now, this 80's shit came back so soon, after the original didn't it.

I hate it, i am 40 and hated it first time around!!

Niecie · 14/09/2009 18:30

I didn't mind them. I had a black cord pair that fitted fine and were actually quite slimming.

And bodies were OK too - just t-shirts that didn't come untucked back in the days when you tucked tops into your bottoms which flattered me as I had a waist back then. Perhaps I was the right height/proportions not to get cut in half. Or as I was in my 20's unlike a lot of you youngsters, perhaps the adult ones fit better than the children's ones.

I used to wear them with a big green Benneton jumper which was gorgeous.

Not that I would wear them again 20 yrs on - been there, done that, but the shame of it is that I don't have the body to wear them any more.

AvadaKedavra · 14/09/2009 18:35

even good old M&S has ski pants in

Didn't Donna Karan "invent" the body as regular womenswear staple?

They are hideous. Definitely not designed for those who are long in the body.

I have flashbacks to friday nights in a club, stuck in the loo for 20 minutes trying to get the sodding poppers to close properly!

bodeniites · 14/09/2009 18:41

yes back in the days when i drank alcahol i remember spending ages trying to do them up a bit drunk and announcing to everyone my flaps wont stop flapping around...nice image

HecatesTwopenceworth · 14/09/2009 18:44

oh god. poppers! Did you ever get your pubic hair trapped? Ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch. The pain as you sit down and riiiiiiip!

poppy34 · 14/09/2009 18:57

Ah no- if ever there was something that proves if you wore it first time round don't wear it now. And am remembering the camel hoof effect of ski pants and the crotch chaffing effect of bodies.

And don't get me started on the revival of Joan Collins shoulder pads in suits

differentID · 14/09/2009 18:58

no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shellseeker · 14/09/2009 19:01

I think now would be a good time to apply the principle of "If you remeber them the first time round, don't wear them the second time round"!

Shellseeker · 14/09/2009 19:03

Doh...remember, obviously! (I think the idea of ski pants so befuddled my brain, it robbed me of the ability to spell)

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 14/09/2009 19:15

Oh sweet lord, which moron hip young thing thought these were a good idea to bring back?

And bodies - going to the loo wasn't so bad though, you just had to hoik them to one side but I remember the dilemma about whether to wear knickers underneath or not - potential for pube-catching if not and you couldn't wear them twice in a row, but like wearing a nappy if you did.

Shellseeker · 14/09/2009 19:20

Maybe this is actually a good thing? Obviously we'll all steer well clear and then look even more fantastic next to everyone who thinks they look cool in this truly hideous attire!

SolidGoldBrass · 14/09/2009 20:28

Well guess what, I wore them the first time round, and I wasn;t thin then, and I'm going to wear them the second time round, despite still being not thin. Because I like them. People worry far too much about what other people think about their clothes.

wahwah · 14/09/2009 20:36

I was so jealous of all the short girls who could wear these, back in the days when my model proportions were not admired or catered for (thank god for 'cropped' trousers). There's still a bit of the tall scrawny teenager who wants to get a pair lurking inside me. Is that so wrong?

Obviously they have to be worn with a pair of ankle boots and a big patterned jumper 'Last Christmas' style or else it all gets a bit Sigue Sigue Sputnik.

PurlyQueen · 14/09/2009 20:41

I can't wait to get a pair.
