What to wear with a black knit dress.

I can't decide what to wear with it!

I'm off to a posh, outside Royal Navy do at the end of November, I'm going to be 4 months pregnant with DC3, so am probably going to look full term .

The dress is all black, thin knit. I'm going to need a coat, either tights, trousers or leggings underneath it otherwise I'll freeze and some knee high or ankle boots. I don't know what colours to go for though. Help.

How about opaque tights in a colour you like I.E purple? Grey? teal? and then some shoeboots? Or ankle boots? If the dress is fitted, then definately not knee high boots (if it is drapey, then knee highs fine)
