Clubbing! Help me!

Right, long story short, I was a very un-confident 19 year old til now. I've never been clubbing, because I've always been the biggest of my group of friends. But now, I've lost quite a bit of weight (nearly 5kgs in 2 months!) and basically have been told "if you ever want to come out for a night, just say the word" which is lovely. I live at home with very conservative parents (go to bed about 10, no DC's of my own yet) and would have to go home early. But 2 of my lovely mates have houses where apparently they all end up sleeping. So that solves that problem.

But what on EARTH do I wear????!!!

I'm about 5ft 2 and currently around 12st 8, size 16 in most things, going into a 14 for tops and stretchy bottoms.

Oh, and what about make up?

And what happens on a night out?

Cor, I'm a pathetic excuse for a teenager!

wear something you'll feel comfortable in - no point standing there tugging down your skirt all night.
I'd ask your friends what they plan on wearing, and if it sounds like something you can wear, follow their lead.
Otherwise find out where you're going and what the other's are likely to wear. It can vary a lot. I used to wear jeans and a nice top but I've seen other places (up north??!) it's all about the skimpier the better

Mostly I'd imagine it will just be about getting drunk and dancing around.
Try and have a good meal a couple hours before you go out, something starchy to fill you up, that way if you have a few drinks they wont go straight to your head

I'm far too old to know what you'd wear to go clubbing now Although the 80s seem to have returned in all the shops so it might end up being something very much like I wore.

Sorry this post was no help at all.

Maybe try somewhere like top shop. Lots of brightly coloured long a- line style tops in at the mo, so good for skimming tums and bums. Perhaps team with dark (and therefore slimming) leggings and dark mini skirt? Lots of the tops are slightly off the shoulder so if you don't feel happy in a bright top maybe wear a dark one and have the straps of a neon bra showing! You could also jazz up with bright necklace, ear rings and bangles.

Ooooh thanks for all the advice! I love some of those tops that you linked to chattermouse, they're just the sort of thing I can wear! I've got some nice black trousers as well as some black leggings. Also have a nice pair of black jeans, and from what my mates say, the clubs we'd go to (apparently moving around from place to place is the done thing!) don't mind denim!

Think I'd wear either boots or some wedges, I can't do skinny heels while sober so after a few drinks it would be deadly!

Go into Boots or one of the dept stores and get them to do your make up for you
The Benefit counter is quite funky!
And have fun
